lovely garden orchid and probably mr OC as well i guess – looking at those lawns.
roses just starting to bloom i see.

the sound of lawn mowers have filled my little valley all day today. the farmers reckon they are happy with their crops and i’m not surprised – the grass here is growing to knee height in two weeks.

Yup, the tree (willow?) on the left would be our Doolan tree, there are shrubs to the right at the end of the bedroom/utility wing (the house is an L shape) and we have what we call the “back deck”, which you’ve got as well (the verandah thing…)…however we lost all the 4 o’clocks in the garden bed along the back deck to backyard cricket and footy and badminton and… and…, so we are not getting a garden in there again: just pots and pots of 4 o’clocks and herbs in troughs in the winter, etc etc…we are not fans of garden beds up agains the house as the inconsistent watering leads to movement in the concrete slabs (or the posts, if holding up a Queenslander style house),,,shrubs that survive on rainfall are OK: just not water-intensive flower-beds or similar…

Hahaha Dinetta! Thanks. That umbrella trees days are numbered, it’s getting too big and puts too much shade on the bed there.
