Hi Lucky,
I tried this once, the one with the red outside skin. It is white fleshed inside with lots of tiny black seeds. It’s sweetish and has a nice texture but the one i had didn’t have any flavour at all. it satisfied my curiosity but i wouldn’t bother again.

I’ve got one but it’s still a baby so no fruit. Mine’s the white fleshed one which I was told is the best, there are other colours. They’re a type of Epi. I’ve eaten a fruit off one of my Epis and it was quite nice. Sort of sherbety.

Orchid I think you must have just got a dud.

Quite possible Bubba. More likely it had been one of the stupormarket’s “Fresh” fruit that had been picked a lifetime ago.

Dragon fruit can be tasteless, from the shops anyway. A spot of lime or lemon juice will bring out the flavour.

I have heaps, anyone want some?

Eas Peasy Japaneesy, it needs something to grow on though in full sun. If you put it against a tree it will run for the sun and you wont be able to get to the fruit.

Its closer to a creeper, but is easily managed. Commercial growers put tall stumps in and tie it untill it grows anchor roots (like an orchid). Its a cactus so water is not a problem.
