Subject: Self Assembling Spaceships

I think our Space Industry could look at designing a few different Self Assembling Spaceships for different purposes.

These ships are for larger missions that cannot be be sent up to space with one rocket payload.

To build larger spaceships in space SAS’s will be require 2 separate payloads or more, engine module, propellant module, mission module/s etc

Engine module is sent first, then propellent module is sent up, then links to it, modules can self assemble using different methods, clips, screw threads, self welding surfaces etc.

This would be cheaper than using a platform in space with space robots, that may still happen for more complex spaceship designs.

As part of the sssf lunar lamder team, i designed several self assembling options for lunar rovers.

Does that count?

Like the ISS?

PS, clips or bolts would be my choice. Clips first option and then bolts if it has to be stronger.

Yes, and using other different methods.

Another option would be multiple tubular structures like rocket casings that physically screw into each other but instead of being hollow they contain living areas
