Hi everyone,

long time since i’ve been on here, i hope everyone is well.

Quick question, where is the Cheapest place to buy half a dozen big plastic pots….minimum 50cm?

As some of you know, i make my own beer and i have been given 6 Hop plants which i need to get planted ASAP, so any help would be most welcome

the op shops have good buys sometimes.

the black plastic ones are usually cheap @ big W. & big B.
‘big’ pots are more like 250mm.

fair enough – i’ve never grown hops but they get pretty big – as in they need a trellis to support them – i think?
malting barley can be grown in this area – (gawler) – hops grow in tassie i think?
still let us know about hops – they could be an interesting new crop.

Hops were also grown in Victoria..

Um that’s a grape bucket.. er the black plastic buckets used for grape harvesting.
They are to be found lying on the side of the road around here.

Try the $2 shops and the Reject shops, but they’re a mite big, the ones you want.

Roll down the sides of a 65 litre bag of premium compost or potting mix. Use the bag as a pot. Shade it and it’ll work fine. maybe punch a few ho;es in the base.
