Well the cheese and kisses seen some garden beds made out of rain water tanks……so we now have to get some.

Anyone had experience with them and also have any links with information. I do remember seeing Josh doing a segment with them some time ago but can’t find it.

Rook I know Cackles has bought some too, but she hasn’t been well and hasn’t signed in here for a while…

Geez your cheese and kisses is one lucky lass…

I’ll ask Cackles on Facebook, but it might take a couple of days to get some info back…

Hey Rook,

Do you mean actual recycled water tanks, or just garden beds made using the same stuff?

I have corrugated iron “water tank style” beds, but they were never water tanks.

Hi bon,

Not recycled, as i can get my hands on an old one to cut down but they are way to big for what i want. I like the idea of an oblong one but will wait until i get a price

Trouble is, they’re a Queensland firm, but maybe you can Google from this to something in Victoria? You are in Vic, aren’t you?

I have one that I got free as a rusted out watertank, and after cutting off the worst bits was left with a decent depth garden bed. I used a nibbling device you attach to your drill to cut it down.

They work really well BG. Next time I see an unused tank I’m going to grab it. Not literally, but I’ll stake a claim.

Hi – I see all is under control! lol I have a new computer and didn’t even know for sure if I could remember my password to sign in. Thanks for the site link again – I am slowly getting bookmarks re-established and gathering email addresses again.

The ones I bought are the from the keepitsimplestupid mob whose link has been given already. There are some always advertised in GA magazine.

So far have only set up lower ones 40cm tall. Some will be used as garden surrounds as described rather than being filled with growing medium – to form mini-courtyards or protected microclimate areas for some things. Very happy with them so far. I can get some pics later if you want. I am using the round 80cm diameter, 40cm high ones for chook fodder – have fitted heavy weldmesh covers for foraging without total demolition. :)

another try to post—-3rd time lucky?

lol no – more like a plant guard! Chooks on outside, plants on inside :p

Sorry – this site takes so long to load for me that i haven’t done the polite hello & chat thing and had even forgotten which photobucket set of code to copy to display the pic because it has been so long since I have actually been able to get the site loaded before I gave up – or it timed out. Hopefully with new computer it won’t be such a problem – although still slower to load than I would like & the menu at the side keeps flashing and going blank as well so something is not working properly somewhere here at one end or the other.

Hello everyone :)

Yay!! lol! It only pops up when your preparing a post and you can’t see what’s being discussed when reading the submitted posts…confusing! but it does help get the “quotes” and formatting (e.g. bold) straightened out before submitting…

note to self: use the Preview button more often

I was talking to my mate from next door last week and telling him how i wanted to get some of these……he turns up with a 600mm top of an old water tank for me yesterday :-)

He also said he had another old on which he will cut into 3 and give me 2 of them…..

Might have to buy him a couple of slabs of beer for this :-)

One very happy Rook
