I’ll be getting myself a set shortly.
I have big hands and i need to cut stuff to about 12mm or so.
Any recommended size i should be getting?
I often see Felco 5 for about $60 and other sizes over $100.
Why the big difference?
Any one have a set they’re happy/not happy with?
Onyuz.

The old fella has a few felcos from the 70s which still stand the test of time… I’m pretty sure they’re 5s.
I carry a Sandvik pair and have done so for near on 15 years with no dramas.

Yeah good site innit.

um .. we are talking about Felco ;)
The good thing abot the rotating handle is that you still have some tendons that work in that hand after 20 million cuts

um.. yeah .. and hey work.. true
but hey.. why not whip it off with the hand saw.. if it is too big for the old Felco 7’s? .. faster than winding up the ratchet.

Ryset make a pair of rolly handle Felco copies that are ok.. for less than the price of a Felco blade.. which you will have to buy and fit to the Ryset pair.. to make them as good as a Felco.

Thankfully my children didn’t need pruning but they were raised by me swinging a pair of secateurs all day.. Not flinging it at them no.. What I meant to say is that unless you work them very hard the you will get at least 30 years out of a pair before you change a blade. Most people lose them in the mud before they ever wear out. There is absolutely nothing to break about the rolling handle all it needs is a drop of oil occasionally.
