I think it was Ruby looking for lemongrass? If you don’t want to wait for seed, Diggers presently have it listed in their catalogue

I used to get mine @ any Asian food mart.
The wonder is buying the pictured trimmed stalks
transplants and readily roots in moist potting medium.
While on the topic of gardening, can anyone suggest why all our indoor plants die very fast, like dead within two days. And a cure?
Thanks for that Buffy, but it is the native lemon grass that I’ve been chasing, Cymbopogon ambiguus. Roughie said a while back that he has it.
I have 3 large clumps of normal lemon grass, enough to give some to every forum member! I love it, I use it for home made Thai curry pastes and tea.

None reported around here, so I can’t assist.

Actually, I might. This mob indicates that my nearest Bunnings is a stockist of their products. Might be worth a try.

All good, Roughie does have some. But thanks for that link, quite a widespread plant. Reported near Newcastle and Broke, so some near here.

Two days seems strange, so my best guess is that it’s the air conditioning causing it.
I don’t have indoor plants myself, but my understanding is that they need to be placed where there is plenty of natural light, and never allowed to dry out.
Ah, sorry. I couldn’t actually remember which one the discussion was about, I think it was in Chat somewhere.

I at first thought that mrs m might be drowning them. But they die too fast even for that. Now i think it’s some sort of disease.

Tell me more, like what plants? What makes you think they are indoor plants? How long since they were transplanted and any other things you can think of.
Plants hate dry air indoors. Humans hate wet air indoors. The twain rarely meet successfully.

As can be seen, it is now quite rare wherever it used to range.

As can also be seen is that fresh seeds won’t be available until late summer.
I don’t currently have any fresh seed.
My Cymbopogon ambiguus seed was sourced from my mining claim at White Cliffs where it colonises old filled in mine shafts for the water they hold. I do cultivate it in my yard but my yard is drier than a mine shaft at White Cliffs.
I get self sown plants spotting here and there around the garden;

Still waiting to get some in my garden! I will have to haunt Bunnings, there is a company doing Aussie edible plants (Tuckerbush), and it is in their range. I check out their stand when I go to Bunnings but have yet to see Cymbopogon ambiguus.
There might be a viable seed or three on this plant if I look carefully.
Self sown lemongrass, self seeding.
Kangaroo grass
The wind was hot and a bit gusty. So I decided to collect these before they blew around the yard.
There will be more, as the rest mature.
bump for ruby.
Oh, you have seed! Happy to buy either seed or seedlings from you. Or swap for yam daisy seed.
