Spot is an agile mobile robot that you can customize for a wide range of applications. The base platform provides rough-terrain mobility, 360 degree obstacle avoidance, and various levels of navigation, remote control and autonomy. You can customize Spot by adding specialized sensors, software and other payloads. Early customers are already testing Spot to monitor construction sites, provide remote inspection at gas, oil and power installations, and in public safety. Spot is in mass production and currently shipping to select early adopters.

I can’t find the sticker price but it is said to cost as much as a “luxury car”.

They never did get those legs straight did they.

Which tells me that they never bothered to solve Newton’s law of motion.

A leg is supposed to be a compound pendulum, moving the thigh needs to automatically translate into movement of the calf by pendulum motion, minimising the amount of energy wasted in controlling the knee. They haven’t done that, so they’re wasting a lot of energy.

PS. I do like that they’ve gone for four legs rather than two. Two legs is only useful for running or climbing.
