Full up of roast beef and tasty wine. Think I’ll watch an episode of Thunderbirds, then go to bed with a damn good book.

Had a bit of rain, but now it’s stopped.

Might have to walk a dog.

Something to consider:

If “good morning” is a greeting, how come “goodnight” is a farewell.

anyway

ta-ta for now.

What about ‘good day’?

A greeting and a farewell: ‘Good day to you, sir.” (With the farewell version sometimes followed by ‘I said good day to you, sir!’)

The curfew tolls the knell of parting day,
The lowing herd wind slowly o’er the lea,
The plowman homeward plods his weary way,
And the old black billy winks at me
In my wild erratic fancy visions come to me of Clancy
Gone a-droving “down the Cooper” where the western drovers go;
As the stock are slowly stringing, Clancy rides behind them singing,
For the drover’s life has pleasures that the townsfolk never know.
