Rosa rugosa ‘alba’ is traditionally used for rose hip jam (and wine ) because it sets lots of large fleshy hips. You need to plant two unrelated rugosa together though because they have self-pollination barriers… so a Rosa rugosa and a Rosa rugosa ‘alba’ planted together would be ideal.
