The weed the lady showed Jerry is one I’ve struggled with forever. He may be right about the lawn needing nitrogen but raising the mower does NOT help. I have it set high already and the rotten stuff is happy as.

I raise the mower according to how fast the grass is growing with rainfall…the more rainfall, the faster the grass grows, the shorter I chop it so I have no mozzies breeding in it for at least a weeek…
missed the show.. which weed?
there are many in lawns.. my method is to use a knife.. if the weed isn’t there .. it cannot make seed below the mower blades.Whoops…it’s about a weed…that’s what happens after half a bottle of Mateus Rose…
The guy from the Palmetum in Townsville is a nice chap, I have ridden my pushbike with him in the past and we have discussed all things cycling and touched on a bit of hort as we’ve wandered along.
Ian says, “One way we have sequestered carbon is through the build up of composts – organic material in the soil. We’ve brought in 4.5 tonnes of organic material which translates to six tonnes of carbon dioxide gas emission which is now locked up in our soil systems. And that translates to about 12 years of our electricity use – the carbon dioxide emissions from electricity generation. So in effect, we’re carbon neutral for a period of 12 years.”

this annoys me intensely!!!
how can you import tons of compost and rave about the carbon sesuckstation – grrrr!!!
