I’m home at last. Missed you all terribly. I’ve read a lot of what you’ve all been on about while I was away but I haven’t read the chat thread.

Sorry to say that we are still in desperate need of rain here. Got 17mls in one storm but you couldn’t even see where it landed. Mr P says that Mrs Bligh is punishing us for not allowing her to build her dam.

Glad to say I now know about frogs, praying mantis, gigantic toads, wasps, citrus problems and farting. Keep up the good work guys.

Thank goodness you’re back!! (or is that “here”?) I have found that recipe book , this is what happens when you tidy up for Christmas, and will send you that recipe later today…

Well if it can rain up here you shouldn’t be far behind…sometimes I’d like to up sticks and move to the land of the long white cloud…but then I saw Joanna Lumley’s “Northern Lights” documentary last Sunday and am wondering if I could eke a living in the erstwhile Lappland…I don’t normally buy DVD’s (have bought one: To have and to have not) but I might get that Northern Lights if it comes out in a DVD

Welcome back pomolo. You are getting as bad as me for disappearing here and there at times. Have you been on family duty too?

Hi Pom. I missed you.

Dinetta I usually like Joanna Lumley but I’m afraid she irritated me in Northern Lights. She always seemed to be putting on a little, breathy, girly whisper, even when talking to other people.

It’s not Joanna I particularly want to watch again…it’s the people, the scenery and the whole “northern” caboodle…shame it was crunched into one show…

Well Hello! at least Joanna had a “go”…be boring if all the documentaries were perfect, and there’s something in one you won’t see in another…

Who or what are Top Gear?

Top Gear is three clowns from the UK who drive fast cars fast. Last Monday, one of them strapped onto a Husky pulled sled ran to the North Pole, with the other two clowns in a Toyota Hilux (the first car ever to drive to the North Pole) in hot pursuit. The scenery was incredible and it was amazing that the sled dogs preferred to run in the wee hours as it was cooler… minus 25 during the day and minus 35 at night!

We’re off to Sydney tomorow. MrS will be helping daughter and SIL reclaim their backyard and I will be on granddaughter duty. It hurst my back too much when I try to work in their yard because it is really uneven and rocky. Anyway playing with granddaughter will be much more fun than ripping out couch grass and bracken fern :)

I find just the baby sitting is hard on my back. You need to be able to get into some funny positions to stay ahead of little kids. LOL.

True it is pretty hard on the back. I’m slowly getting my granddaughter to help me when I lift her. I hold her hands and she lifts herself up to a position that’s easier for me to lift her. She’s not all that heavy yet which helps. She turns 1 on the 15th
