Morning everyone, we planted quite a few of these plants last year and where looking really well , they now seem to have collapsed in the middle of the plant and are growing outwards……are you suppose to cut them back?

So instead of looking like a nice green domed balled they have this brown centre.

Hope i have explained myself

Hi Rook—I have the white ones and they are as tough as old boots they have even strated growing in the brick path quite away from the original planting and I cut them back all the time.

Yep, chop away. They do layer so chop carefully and save any bits that have rooted and presto, new plants. They’re a Perth plant so should be used to heat and dryness. Yours are probably only looking like that because you didn’t prune them.
