I have no idea if it would still be available anywhere, but I remember being absolutely drawn into a 1960s TV series called Wandjina! Looking it up now, it might well have been Jackie Weaver’s first role.

I watched the original 1960 film ‘Oceans 11’ the other night.

There’s a scene in which Dean Martin assists a tipsy girl in a parking lot (she’s in the way of one of the gang’s actions for the robbery).

I looked at her, and thought, ‘is that…nah, it isn’t…but she looks like…”

So, i looked it up, and yes, it’s Shirley MacLaine in a brief uncredited role.

I haven’t read the book or watched the film.

Nonetheless, the following carton appeared from nowhere inside my head:

At least one person on the Internet thinks otherwise:

“ Moonraker (1979) is criminally underrated and bashed by Bond fans “

Moonraker was made, and made the way it was, because (a) a new movie was due to keep the franchise calendar in synch with the movie-release calendar, and (b) to cash in on some ‘trendy’ stuff like Space Shuttles.

It was a minimal-effort by-the-numbers production (regardless of budget), and it comes across as such.
