fairly much it all does, of course not immediately as a rule (importantly a lot of it probably isn’t immediate, not quick at all), but to generalize it all does. The consideration may yield something useful, a view on the effect of it being mostly immediate, and quick, or the pattern of it being so, in practice

there’s no doubt the force of different aspects of mental processing changes with, well, mental states, configurations involved

biorhythms, by whatever name, circadian rhythms, you could probably say are related, or you get evidence of mental state changes with

not all of which could be explained in a framework of mood/s, because a lot of mental processing doesn’t necessarily make itself known to internal senses, or need expression, or need generate a mood. Consider the possibility of a moodless mood, your thoughts have retreated more to where the background stuff is done. Of course it may not really be the background, more i’m getting to where the processing isn’t accessible, or directly or immediately accessible.

the global feel-see, experience of internal environment, the home in the head, probably benefits from cyclic retreats, folding back concerns about the external environment, immediate sensory input for example, as in when asleep. Most conscious creatures make adjustments to responsiveness to external environment, intentionally, there are too adjustment/s (mechanisms) that aren’t (fully) known, and whatever anyway a person can patch it with something else, that proximately does the job

anyway to the retreat, variously its ways, and the potentially useful contradictions (seen, and unseen) about receptivity to external environment, including cultural receptivity. The wetware is highly receptive to social environment, apparently, courtesy biology, environments way back influenced what characteristics more commonly replicated, were selected for

to the point, regard ways (involving beliefs, and behavior), it seems some ways are mental state hostile, they tend to get their power by narrowing down the range of them, or possible range of them, even casting them as simply moods, perhaps

so one persons desire for (a mood of more persistent) excitement say, could become a way hostile to more neutral mental states. Of course more neutral mental states aren’t so (overtly) forceful.

i’m wondering how much modern culture is nurturing of mental states, and awareness of, like, for example, entertainment is a big thing, a big industry, and there’s a lot of hurriedness. Evidently culture lends to some calibration of mechanisms involved, offers ways

ways can displace mental states, and mental state awareness, and shared ways potentially more so

mental states aren’t tangible, ideology certainly offers ways to convert intangibles, actualize something more physical or material in their stead, you could say

You’re right. “moodless mood” is certainly possible, Freud would call it suppressed Id. And you’re right in that there’s a distinction between conscious background and unconscious background.

Yep.

From afar? or through approaching Nirvana? I have had moodless moods, but even at my most spiritual I never got anywhere near Nirvana. I’m far from convinced that Nirvana does or ever has existed.
