Subject: Gmail & Deleting

Any forum members use or are familiar with Gmail? I encounter a problem of emails beinh deleted or archived. When opening gmail the next time the deleted or archived ones reappear. Most aggravating. Is there a means of stopping this or is it a setting which must be managed? Help will be much appreciated.

It doesn’t happen to me. Perhaps it has something to do with synchronisation settings.

Are you using gmail on the web or through an app? Either way, it shouldn’t be happening but you can send feedback to google.

if using email program, whatever, make sure it’s set to do what you want on the server as well, not just locally on your computer

like it may have something like leave a copy on the server, something to that effect, in which case your local email program will resynchronize remote server content, so you turn that off, tell it to delete what you want deleted off the server. Be stern with it, no-nonsense, polite threats of alienation might work

but you probably already knew all that

Missy says:

If deleted while searching it will still appear for a period of time. It will also have the title “trash” attached to it. If you go away and come back it will no longer be in inbox, but you can still search trash. The trash can be emptied at any time.

For archiving it’s easy to accidentally archive by swiping. She doesn’t use archive.
