yummo! Did you know that in Korea, when you wrap your little bits of meat and vegies up into a lettuce leaf, the then idea is to be able to shove the whole thing into your gob in one go, no biting or nibbling it first… and the hidden agenda is to make a parcel bigger than anyone else at the table!

You sure can grow roses TheE. We have a few growing but I think they are more trouble than what they are worth. This is in the North of course.

thanks Pom. has not been a great year / season to date, a lot of blackspot and thrips for the first flush but slowly coming back, lost count of how many effected leaves I have picked off LOL. Up North I would not be bothered too many other smelly flowers up your way :)

you’re bad Muriel… Fedelio was my favourite red Rose I used to grow. When my sister had a baby (when I used to live down south), I cut her about 3 dozen stems of Fedelio and delivered them to her in the horsespittle.. she stayed on a couple of days and then gave the blooms to the midwives and nurses, who told her that they were still holding their shape and looking good 7 days after my sis had left…

There were two rose beds in the front yard when we bought this place but they had to be moved, I wanted the area for vegies. We had a friends 8yr old son help us dig them up, word of caution dont let kids help if you want to keep roses. I havnt bothered replacing any but might have to now The Frog is here, is there a type called Olivia?

Then your memory is not as good as you think… When I was in the army, I would get into quite a heated argument with a certain Major who thought Mr Lincoln was superior to Fedelio. Bollocks to that I would say and stand my ground.

Now yes Mr Lincoln is a nice rose and I have said that in the past, but Fedelio for me is the better…

There is an Olivia Newton John rose that you could just refer to as Olivia, LOL! Very pretty too and part proceeds go to cancer research.

Maybe the association is perhaps I once vehemently took a disliking to Mr Lincoln in defence of Fedelio???

we have a scanner, but the software doesn’t work on Linux (his) or Vista (mine) and it costs more than a new scanner to update the software!! It could be put on Miss N’s computer as she has XP but the man has not bothered to do so.

Tell him about Xsane scanner software. Stand alone or it integrates with Gimp editing software. It is free.

Linux package management makes it so easy to install it.
