Olympus E-510, nice beast but getting a bit old now… it took a bit of a beating in PNG and even here it gets carried around everywhere. Its falling apart and I have to tolerate its nuances but I’m happy with it. Might upgrade this year to a E3 or wait until the new arrival from Mt Olympus due soon.

good news and great shots.
have you got the shingleback, bluetongue and sleep lizards up there?
i watched a smallish bluetongue eating yesterday – either a turd or a bit of bamboo – i thought of your camera then – and wished i could have frozen the action to see what its diet was.

No I haven’t seen a stumpy or bluey for years! We do get big Goannas, and I saw a Frill Necked Lizard out by the new place we have bought. We get plenty of dragons, beardos and water and we do get Lace Monitors and they are HUGE! And there are Crocodiles around the place.

So big lizards, we got some.

I rarely use the live view, only if I am reaching a hard to get to spot and I cannot get my eye behind the view finder.

not enough meat on a skink for mixed grill… although I could mash them together to form a sausage or pattie type meat, my preference is to salt them in brine and use them like anchovies.
