LOL! I was being restrained. :)
One day at my friend’s place she said to me “Put the secateurs down and repeat after me ‘hello, my name is Hortie and I am an addict’” (this friend is a decided black thumb, which is why I go feral with gardening tools at her place)
You can actually see the fanatical gleam appear if you look for it, and if I don’t succumb at least a little bit I’m sure I’d start to drool, ROFL!!
Last time I was at this friend’s place, she borrowed my pruning saw to cut a branch and I saw her have a moment of revelation. Her eyes even gleamed too. She said “No wonder you’re addicted, your saw cuts through a branch like butter. If mine did that I might be addicted too,” and having said that, she proceeded to look for a number of other branches that needed cutting, LOL!

BTW Bon, Mary Rose has flower buds!
Winchester Cathedral is covered in healthy new growth, about where Mary Rose was two weeks ago. Waiting for buds to appear there too.

You know, I think I’d be a lot more keen to get tools out and do things, if I could easily walk into the laundry and get the tool I need. Not shift the clothes rack out of the way, climb over the blood & bone, and then try to disentangle tool x from the mangled pile of tools a, c, b, d through z. (The corner tool storage thing fell off the wall a while ago – haven’t cleaned it up yet as I don’t know what system to replace it with.. and you know, still trying to fix the car, get the other car serviced, henna my hair, go to the dentist, and so forth and so forth)

Good news on the roses :)

All welcome here.. especially if you weed as compulsively as HFB!! She came to take some rose bushes, and managed to do some pruning and weed half the front garden at the same time :D

LOL! I was being restrained. :)

You are lucky the tools are inside bon. We (especially MrS) are notorious for not putting tools away so we have to search the garden when we need a particular tool. I am trying to be more diligent with the care ouf our tools, but not succeeding too well :(

Hehe. Mr Bon is a classic leave tools out type. I’m not allowed to complain, because it’s always a lovely thing when he helps with anything. But whenever he does a job outside – the tools get left out. He left the saw on the ground after he cut the end off the Christmas tree last year.. bad enough with the dog around but I hope he will start thinking harder when there are kids around!

I’m not a heck of a lot better myself, but I won’t leave anything sharp around, and I’m usually OK at putting away anything that might rust.

I’m like that too. I have a tool trolley but it is buried so deep in the clutter in the garage that I can’t use it :(

One day I will get around to clearing that clutter. I have a mulcher/shredder buried in there too but there is currently no way of getting it out.

Oh, thank god it’s not just me. If I had one wish that I couldn’t use for, you know, world peace and stuff – it would be for everything in my house and garden to have a place, fit easily into that place, and be easy to retrieve/put away. I’m really seriously hoping that the main reason it is so hard at the moment is the sheer lack of space. Will be thinking very hard when we design the new place, about how to organise things… I think I would like to separate storage space from “doing” space, so instead of having a shed in the backyard where tools are stored and things get done – put some very shallow (say 1 foot deep) storage areas (maybe behind roller doors etc) along one side of the house or shed, where there’s room to store things – so the “doing” area is free of things that aren’t being used. Sorry, that’s a bit rambly, but I spend a lot of time pondering these issues :)

you can get sheds that are like that. very shallow and not much more than cupboards for gardening tools so take up very little space.

Oh cool. I think that is what would suit me best.. give me a large space and it will fill up to the point of being inaccessible.. but lots of small spaces, and I think you must cut down the chances of that happening.. I might also label shelves and things.. wouldn’t do it inside but happy to go all-out outside..

When I checked there were three not one, so I’ve potted them up seperately. They didn’t have much root system compared to the amount of growth. I hope they live because everone wants one.
