Couple of questions raised by looking at the flight radar site.
a) Why are there so many aircraft from Qatar in Australian skies? Also Emirates.
b) Why are there flights from Chinese cities to Australia, when we were told such traffic was suspended?

More generally, AUS references include messages like the following.

There may also be empty flights just following the routine — but disclaimer, we don’t run any airline so we wouldn’t be able to give more specifics than that.
Maybe the Qatar and Emirates flights are still running with near empty planes, or maybe just freight.

Airlines share planes. The flight I took from Perth to Mel was shared by five different airlines. So if some airlines pull out, the flights are registered with fewer airlines.
There is, or should be, no limit on cargo flights. I’ve ordered an oral thermometer from China (9 shops here had all sold out) and I’m waiting on its arrival.
