Redesigning society for corona virus

Here are some ideas for improving things, I’m sure there are heaps more

1 mask dispensers at hospital entrances

2 foot operated toilet flushes (hospitals, free way rest stops, sport clubs, schools)

3 foot operated taps (as above)

4 floor to ceiling air ventilation in emergency waiting rooms, emergency wards, doctors waiting rooms, doctors rooms

5 floor to ceiling air ventilation planes, trains, trams and buses

6 install washable air filters hospitals waiting rooms emergency ward and all other wards and clinics

7 install washable air filters in planes

8 education on virus transfer touching and droplets in breathing droplets ≤5 μm in diameter, 60 and 100 microm, larger respiratory droplets, up to 1 millimeter across etc cleaning keyboards mice steering wheels etc

9 Keep reminding people about mask hygiene and proper placement

10 keep reminding people about hygiene before and after shopping

We don’t need to redesign it relative to corona virus. Every season we have colds and flu. The general principles have been known for a long time now. We just need people to know/remember about hand washing and not coughing/sneezing all over other people and not going out if you have symptoms.

Note that most of these ideas already exist in some parts of the world.

11 fund small businesses fish chip shop etc to enable online purchasing and payment.

This reduces transfer of any virus activity by handling of money.

Also orders ready to be picked up at fast food shops and other businesses can be texted to phone.

Cafe here has put a table across the entrance. Patrons can see the menu & place an order.
Pick up & card pay when ready.

We are still walking into the bakery/cafe. Tables are pushed right out to the side so there is a big empty area in the middle. On the 4 sq m per person thing, you can put 16 people in there. But nobody is doing that. Generally no more than about 4 or 5 all standing out around the edges waiting for their coffee to be made.

Would making all those changes lower the immunity system ?

Something to consider. A more cautious approach.

More research.

the objective needs be eliminate it, in the absence of widely available immunization and repeat shots as needed to assist do that

it’s not a good idea to adjust to its persistence outside that objective

consider for a moment the risk, effort and resources required to reduce the number of cases from 10000 down to 50, then consider the resources to reduce it from 50 to 0

there is in fact no argument (of objective) to maintain it down to or at any any level above 0, and the sooner it is done the better

even if, and necessity makes it so, that the level of 0 is in certified people, or groups, because that’s how things need progress, through a high level of confidence in people recently and regularly tested that keep their probability of infection low, from them normal will return, incrementally

Airports and sea terminals are the points where corona entered.

Maybe the focus should be looking at those points at bit more .

maybe in the future look to install virus scanning of everybody at all incoming points

9 Keep reminding people about mask hygiene and proper placement

10 keep reminding people about hygiene before and after shopping

I would agree with a complete hospital redesign. No sharp corners, no crevices anywhere. Everything machine washable, including TV remotes. Whole rooms cleanable by high pressure water hose. Chlorinated plastics only. Stainless steel or glass-based enamel only. Airlocks between rooms.

Hygiene and virus testing at airports and sea terminals

A lot of people who disembark at air ports usually have a walk to the toilets, those have the virus are transmitting in the air and in the toilets etc

so testing at airports and sea terminals needs to take that into account

A strong source of virus transfer activity is at the toilets at airport and sea terminals.

Any testing would direct an infected person to seperate toilets and these toilets have their own sewage systems.

to what extent can measures be taken to?

testers will have to to wear masks

An infected traveller with covid19 is contaminating the air will have to wear a mask and can be directed to a waiting room with airlocks air filtering and its own toilet

It’s not going to happen

The magical ventilation/ filter systems cost money, it’s cheaper to just make people sick.

Taking trains and buses in major cities is a death sentence.

In the end it’s not really going to help because flu comes South East Asia and spreads to the rest of the world ( Google it).

It’s easier just imposing quaratines for any one entering Australia paid for by the visitor.

I think you’re right. This will finally put a nail in the coffin of Borg collective transport, it’s not working and is down right dangerous.
We’ll go back to individuals driving to work in the personal safety of their own vehicle and exercising the freedoms and liberties bestowed upon them by our four fathers, the right to bare arms, the right to personalised aircon settings no matter what the outside is doing………………..things like that.
