Aim: to see which, if any, seeds grow
Method: Place seeds in 5 cotton wool in a shallow dish to see which ones grow. The dish will have fresh water every day, and placed on the window sill for sunshine. We shall check it every day to see if any have sprouted.
We ‘planted’ 2x basil seeds, 1 each of birdseed, sunflower seeds, and a peanut.

Even if the peanuts are roasted the experiment in an investigation into viability of propagating the seeds bedded onto the dampened cotton wool pads.

Mini-me could learn about why the nuts did not sprout and put that into her findings.

Exactly. You could also try a pea from the freezer and a grain of rice, for that matter.
