I’m assuming that it would die of starvation within a few days. Apparently it can still “breathe”, though.

I wonder if it could navigate its way back to the nest, or if it just flew around aimlessly until it was eaten by a predator or lodged in a spider web.

It’s lost its sight and chemical senses, I don’t see how it could navigate.

Yes. Insects breathe through spiracles, hollow tubes that run through their body; gas exchange is passive and happens along the spiracles. They don’t have lungs, and don’t need a head or muscles to breathe.

No me neither. But if it did we would have to do some serious rethinking of what we know about this species of wasp.

Even the birds ants wasps, when they sing,
It’s not everything to them,
They lift their wings heads to heaven,
And fly away

Could it be connected to its head via Bluetooth or Wireless

Insects don’t need brains.

They fly by gut instinct.

in honesty it looks more like the head is still attached by a tenuous piece of whatever wasps are made up of, rather than being picked up by the arms

whether that qualifies as “picks up” we leave to the other viewers

A flea and a fly in a flue
Were imprisoned, so what could they do?
Said the fly, “let us flee!”
“Let us fly!” said the flea.
So they flew through a flaw in the flue.
