Yes I can imagine how you feel and what you both put yourselfs through, but he is better worrying about inside and you outside, even if he just helps with the dishes and stuff, just not worth the risk, but it must be so hard for you both , not fair I say

Ouch! I don’t know where you are DL, somewhere in SA , but those temps are horrible.
It got ‘down’ to 33C o/n here..ended up with hubby and me, the dog, and giant son stretched across the end of our bed, but the air con kept us cooler. The main air con gets switched off o/n.
Clouds are gathering though.
When I went to bed the temp was 34.5 and it was 34.5 when I woke up.

expect it to be 34 again by lunch

Heavy rain as cool change hits SA
A cool change that has swept across much of South Australia has brought some heavy rain.
Lower Eyre Peninsula got the most during the morning – 52 millimetres falling at Coles Point and 38 millimetres at Coulta.
Areas such as the Riverland and parts of the north-east of SA are still sweltering.
Renmark, close to the border with Victoria, has again had a maximum in the mid-30s.
Peter Webb from the weather bureau says Adelaide has had rain.
“We’re expecting the showers to clear early afternoon from the Adelaide area, but some parts of Adelaide might get some decent showers into the very early parts of this afternoon. We could see anywhere between 5-15 millimetres through to early afternoon,” he said.
As a change moved across SA, emergency crews were called to dozens of jobs, dealing with fallen limbs and trees.
South Australia’s heatwave lasted five days.

PERTH is roasting through the longest dry spell in 15 years with not a drop of rain in the gauge in 53 days and forecasters predicting a 42C weekend scorcher.
The city last saw rain on November 20.
It is the longest period without rain since a 68-day drought in November 1994.
While the longest dry spell on record lasted 83 days in 1876, the WA Bureau of Meteorology said it was unusual for Perth to go without any summer rain.
“Normally we would have had even a small amount of rain and that breaks the dry spell,” the bureau’s senior forecaster Glenn Cook said.
“It’s a statistical thing, but how significant is it, that is another question.
“There hasn’t been any opportunity for rain for 53 days and that doesn’t happen all that often, but it does happen.”

Sunday 0.0mm 26.0°C +8.7 43.1°C +10.0

It is all a click away.. so I try any/all of them and look for how rapidly I can get what I want via clicking from the original bookmark.
This is why I collect weather sites.
but it is worth noting that in most cases other than possibly contractual agreement between companies, all sites show BOM statistics.. equally. They just try to create more interseting ways to read it.>That’s crap! Got it all sorted now??
Think so. They owe me up towards $2k.

We were asked what would we do when gs moves out,( he is taking his PC with him, because if the PC stayed here, he wouldn’t budge) and we couldn’t even think of what we would do lol!
Enjoy the quiet..not hide phones, and food, no massive messes to clean up, no hulk house wrecking tantrums, what unbelievable joy!

While some ground moisture would be nice… Maccas aren’t a big fan of sodden feet. The tree has been mulched and it still being supported by ropes. I think this tree really needs only an inch of rain every so often for the next few months with some extended dry spells.

Minimum of 9C last night, maximum predicted of 26C today…
18C at 6am and on its way to 26C but breezy today and tomorrow. And I have the day off.
Minimum of 12C last night, expected max of 27C today…much warmer than Sunday night but still jumper (acrylic) and flanelette pyjama trousers stuff…cats are curled up…
Mimimum of 12C last night…balmy…and expected maximum of 29C today….which, as I explained to Portland (Vic) daughter, is why they don’t grow many boganvilleas, frangipani and Mango trees down there…

thanks for the link Thee, but I’m choosing not to get out the UBD just yet and engage in conversation of a description of how one would get to Swanpool. I like to think I have a reasonable knowledge of Australia, and I have travelled through many parts of Victoria, but never to Swanpool, so I was keen to try and work it out. I’ll resort to Google maps when I get frustrated.
I believe a few cyclists are riding their pushies around the Bay today?
OMG idiots, freeze their pert little bums off , nice perving though LOL
Forecast top today for Townsville is 27C. That’s bloody middle of July kinda stuff!
10 here….feels like 5.8.
Feet are freezing as I was out feeding scraps to the gang in ,y thongs.
Now have my ugglies on and some bed socks…

If I pick you up on the drive South, me thinks we will both end up lost, or at somewhere close to lost like Hopper’s Crossing!
I’ll have you know my navigation skills are superb…the next turn left past the kangaroo at the burnt stump holds no fears for me…I used to think mud maps were “mug’s maps”…until I saw the words written down…who needs a map when somebody can just tell you….anyway, as I explained to my very anxious “do you know where you’re going dear?” Mother: I’m never lost, just temporarily mislaid…
Off to Gooooooooooogle Hopper’s crossing…

It got up to 27C as predicted, and now that the breeze has stopped, it is quite a mild, balmy evening.
On the news they are talking about the useasonal weather. What are they talking about? It happens nearly every year…quite warm in early spring and then cold snaps through to November and beyond
As soon as the sun went down it started to get cold. Chilly night tonight I think.

What about beds? I’ve got soft in my old age.
only two bedroom, but lots of tent space! or the Midland Holiday Park
I’m planning a two-week road trip with Littlefella from Boxing Day. Calling in to see my sister in Canberra then down to Vic, staying with a cousin in Kyneton or maybe sharing a cabin with her and her son at the coast (yet to hear back from her about dates). Planning to have the tent and camping gear with us, although I may splash out on cabins or motels in between guest bedrooms.
When were you thinking of going south, PM?

Not sure Yeehah, weather would play a big part. Do we want to leave the comfort of Cyclone Season to swelter in stoopid 40C of southern Australia, or do we wait until the gorgeousness of our winter to brave the sub-antarctic chill of June, or do we wait until Spring, when all it seems to do is flood down south.
Quite frankly, the weather anywhere south of Home Hill will have it negatives compared to life in Mangolia.
Except maybe Autumn?

Is going to be 36 now. I have the sewing machine out in the kitchen today. Starting next door’s baby quilt as he’s due next month. We walked to the doc this morning…my radiator is over heating of late… need to know if the coolant is in need of a change ;P I’ll get told that on Monday in the arvo. Got to have some blood tests done tomorrow.
Anyhowwwww it was warm walking home at 9 am.

For a while when I was on uni holidays and living at home, I accompanied my mum on her crazy-fast up-hill long walk every morning. It was a fantastic way to start the day, I loved it – but completely incompatible with the amount of sleep I need and a full-time job =/

Today is my 15-month anniversary of having started full-time work. Still love my job, but still adjusting to the full-time-ness of it. Every now and then I’d like a day off to wander the shops that’s not a weekend day, mainly because a lot of shops shut at lunchtime Saturday or don’t open on Sundays (I do live up the country, you know!). And because I live in a small country town, there are sod-all shops here, so “going shopping” means either a 70km drive west or 100km drive south to more than just a Target Country and two discount variety stores. No Kmart or BigW here, let alone specialty stores. One locally-owned furniture shop and a pocket-sized Retravision.
Where was I heading? Um, yeah, time management.
Well, just in the last week I instigated a new concept – the daily Housework Half-Hour. Littlefella is hard to get motivated, especially when I’m unmotivated myself. So in a moment of brilliance I announced that, as an extension of the concept of the “Two-Minute Tidy” for a messy bedroom, we would would both be pitching in to do a Housework Half-Hour from 6 – 6.30 pm every day, regardless.
And it’s been working – the lad even reminded me on the weekend!
So as a further extrapolation of the concept, I’m toying with the idea of committing to some kind of exercise event every morning. I tried the gym but I got bored with that. I’d walk if I had a walking buddy, used to go walking with a friend a couple of times a week for an hour at a time 6 or 7 years ago, but am unmotivated to go solo – and I need to be back in the house by 7.30am.
Someone recently suggested an exercise bike and just hop on for half an hour every so often. That requires an outlay of funds … may do some research when I get to some decent shops.

Sounds good, Yeehah :) I do have a plan in mind – for when the house is demolished & we move in with my parents. There will be a gym just down the road with a pool – I really want to get back into swimming. And my mum has a bike I could borrow. I’d love to go with my mum on her walks (Mr Bon doesn’t like walking particularly, and it’s harder to get going on one’s own), but I don’t know we could both agree on a suitable time.. maybe on weekends.
If you were in Perth, I’d give you our bloody exercise bike. Bought it with the same idea in mind – didn’t happen. Partly because of the lack of room – when we want to use it it has to be dragged into another room, and it’s quite heavy and cumbersome.

Early last year or late the year before, I spent $400 on a Dyson vacuum fan…it’s the bee’s knees, cat’s pyjamas and everything else that phenomenal! It’s in the kitchen because that’s where I need a fan…It’s on the chest freezer as it is a short, table-top fan…
OMG… … expensive but worth every penny!
and I can take it apart and pack it back in it’s box for winter…I think it only makes a noise if it needs a clean…not much to do there, just a wipe with a cloth…

My heart was in my mouth when I parted with my $$$, Lucky…but then I picked up on an undercurrent that it was the last one and one of the shop assistants in the shop, had her eye on it…so that was a recommendation…
It’s a beaut (did I tell you it was a beaut?)…” a prime article”…as somebody said about the Aprica high chair that I bought…

Yes, I have the ceiling fans going 24/7 from about September/October to April/May… they cost little to run and they keep the heat out of the house…we have the whirly birds on the roof but the fans make the difference under the ceiling…

No ceiling or pedestal fans, just a small desk fan which actually works quite well, not too blowy but keeps the air circulating
You live in a house that has no fans? :>0!!!!
(unreal)
One of the things I’m really excited about in the new houses.. ceiling fans! We have one in this house, but in the “dining room” – which is really just where half the books are kept – we never spend any time in there. The fan only goes on if we have smoked out the kitchen :D
