Subject: Passionfruit problem

Can anyone give me clue’s with what’s up wth my Passionfruit? Hasn’t been in the ground for too long, was doin beautiful but now some of the new growth has gone a bit wierd. Other new growth is ok.

could be the soil is too alkaline. Some iron chelates would help in that case.

looks like several things but if only one part of the plant is affected it is more than likely to be damaged either by insects or the sun.

If the soil was too alkaline there wouldn’t be other good growing tips unless perhaps the affected part gets more sun or the root zone isnt watered equally perhaps. Have you examined the undersides of the leaves looking for obvious damage or insects? Have you examined the stem for damage?

However if you have other good growing shoots then this may be the older growth and it wouldn’t hurt to prune it off and see how the plant goes.

I’ll pop back in when I get home and have a good look at it and do a soil test.
