Number 11 is looking a bit over done after the heat wave.
Couple of photos of him.
I am wondering what I should be doing.
Do I leave those burnt leaves and stems on it or pull them off and cook the stems??

Ours often suffer from the heat….but after a few days of good regular watering they seem to come good. Personally though Lucky I’d be finding somewhere in the ground for it….I reckon it would much better off than in the pot
not sure if the stems with the burnt leaves will be any good as they will have had the moisture sucked out of them too. Perhaps remove the worst affected leaves and stems and compost them, give the plant a good drink and protect from further heat scorch if possible so that those new leaves can get on with growing to replace the damaged ones.

Anne its not in a pot. Its a couple of half cement rings around it and a bit up out of the actual soil. This is the only rhubarb out of 12 plants that has grown.

I agree, it will suffer from the heat much more if it’s in a pot.

Agreed. The stems won’t be good for cooking if the’re floppy.

I’ve noted with mine , although they do flop with the heat, by late arvo they are shaded by the mandarine tree and stand back up after the shade is on them, and a good watering.
I didn’t want to over fuss on it and have it croak on me…. so I came to the egg=sperts:)
Just thought I’d let you know I removed all those burnt leaves and stalks. Gave it a good feed of worm wee and it’s all tucked in for the night;)

Good :) I cleaned up my rhubarb too of any stalks that didn’t break of at the base cleanly. Seasoled.
