If anyone knows how to get the Android OneDrive app to allow you to open pdf files with something other than the OneDrive pdf reader, I would be very grateful if they could share it.

I’ve never used onedrive but I have opened pdf files and each time it gives me an option to open with various applications and the option to do it just once or always. I suppose if I chose always it would never ask again but I always choose just once. If you choose always, I imagine there is a way to go into the settings and change that. I suppose it is like file associations in windows…

That’s what happens outside OneDrive, but the OneDrive app overrides that and opens the built in pdf reader without asking.

Doesn’t work. I have set the default pdf reader, but OneDrive ignores it.

I have never activated onedrive. It’s on the phone but does not open automatically & I never open it manually.

If you have a MS Office subscription, you get 1TB of OneDrive space included with that, which means I can upload my entire library of pdf documents from my computer, and have it available for reading on my Android pad.

Which would be pretty good if it wasn’t for having to use the useless OneDrive pdf reader.

I’ve got that subscription, they send you a nice little email saying they are going to mug you again in a months time.

I don’t have the Office thingie on the phone. Have never needed it. I have it on my computers though. They open pdfs with Adobe reader.

A quick internet search suggests that the settings might be on the server so changes need to be made by logging into your online account: Library > Advanced > Use default. The page I am looking at suggests using IE so I don’t think it is particularly up to date…

Just give me the link to get 1TB of space at no extra cost and I’ll switch today.

15 gigabytes of free storage should satisfy most.

shrug

I’m not concerned about what satisfies most, I need much more than that and I’m not going to pay Google for it when I have already paid Microsoft for it.

My projects folder comes in at around 19 GB. All the standards and suppliers etc would easily double that.

My 4TB removable drive suits me nicely.

So about $11/TB.

How much Scottish blood do you have?

You should be grateful to me and my Scottish brothers and sisters, keeping Google honest by supporting the opposition.
