Exploring the Evolution of the Human Brain at the Single-cell Level

Twenty-first century neuroscience is an enticing field of research that offers the potential to deliver novel insights into the cognition of the human brain and the molecular mechanisms behind brain diseases. However, it needs a little help.

It’s an intriguing title, if nothing else :)

I’ll have a look tomorrow.

Apparently the fruit fly olfactory circuit evolved a variant of a Bloom filter to assess the novelty of odors.

It is also attracted to a certain shade of yellow. Which happens to be the same yellow on the sulo recycle bin lids. I cut up a small amount of some fruit and spray the whole thing with the Creepy Crawly insect surface spray that’s supposed to last six or twelve months. Can buy it at the stupormart.

Even thogh the wind blows and all, invariably when I look later, there is usually at least one dead qld fruit flycarcass to observe on the bin lid. I spray both bin lids but the yellow one always gets them.

> The advent of single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) has made this feat possible. This technique, which continues to be optimized, provides RNA expression profiles of individual cells.

> Oligodendrocytes and astrocytes displayed more differences in the human evolutionary lineage than neurons as compared to similar cells in other primates.

So we’re actually more brainy? That was unexpected.

Look we haven’t had a good look at this alleged breach yet and don’t know how serious it is and what sort of trouble you may find yourself in.
In the time being I’d advise you, strictly off the record, is to say nothing and apologise for nothing.
