If it was legalised, it would be taxed at the same rate as tobacco of course
95c per cigarette.
$1,310 per kg.
At that tax rate, would anyone buy the legal stuff?

At that tax rate, is there a booming trade in illegal tobacco?
I mean, i know that people try to smuggle in containerloads of ciggies, but is there that much of a demand that it’s really worth the effort?

1kg = 35 ounces.

retail price for an Oz is probably around $300-400 depending where you live, quality and if you know the seller.
I’d imagine most tobacco smokers buy the legal stuff, despite the cost.

There are lots of places where personal use is legalised.
Just saying.

This amazes me. It’s so easy to grow that even hard-core dope smokers can do it.

I’d have said $250 – $350 for medicinal grade, depending on circumstances.

For the potential prison sentence you’re much better off going for cocaine, risk reward etc.
So Moll’s returns are not high enough. It would sell out and then the growers would down tools.

It is legal…
for 10mL of CBD oil it’s ~$300
for 10mL of THC+CBD oil it’s about $350
Anyway, smoking anything is so passé .

we can blame Barnett for that.. he thinks that marijuana use will lead to harder drug use… so instead of smoking a doob, WA’s drug loving population use ice… which is nice for us.

Hmmm… It’s weird that the states are allowed to make their own rules on some things but not others. Even more weird that municipalities are allowed to make their own rules about similar things.

Cigarettes are a different product so why should it incur the same tax?
Marijuana should have its own tax rate, separate from cigarettes.
Its tax rate should be in line with its harm rate.
Are the tax rates for cigarettes in line with its harm rate?
If not I would like to see this with cigarettes and alcohol.

Products that harm
Cigarettes tax rate gets set to its harm rate,
Cannabis tax rate set to its harm rate,
Alcohol tax rate set to its harm rate,
Which would all be different.
Does that make sense ?

Transport costs can be spread over the sale of each product transported per distance.
so instead of truckies being hit for those costs, the cost is paid for by the people buying each of those products.

Russia’s equivalent of “Little Johnny” jokes typically involve a child called Vovochka, which is a diminutive form of Vladimir, who interacts with his teacher, Maria Ivanova (a stereotypical name for teachers), generally spoken in the shortened form Marivanna.
