Can you explain to a political ignoramus like me what the heck is happening in the Victorian government?

Is this a coup, and if so by whom?

It’s the reason we have an IBAC. And why we should have a national body of this sort.

https://www.ibac.vic.gov.au/

We need to let it do its thing.

Nothing that convoluted i imagine. Most likely factional enemies of Somyurek filling in the media. Why bring down someone personally when you can get the media to do it for you.

So nobody here really knows what’s happening in Victorian government either.

The IBAC website explains nothing. It’s concentrates on investigation into Covid-19 activities and police activities.

I have two problems with anti-corruption commissions. One is that the person who sets up the commission does so in order to pretend to do the right thing whilst avoiding offending their corrupt colleagues. (My source for that is Manning-Clarke).

The second is that a corrupt politician or government official with a cutout person is very difficult to pin to the wall, and a corrupt politician with two cutout people can’t be pinned to the wall at all. Which is why all the most corrupt politicians use two cutout people. The only people caught by an anti-corruption commission are the innocent and naive people who haven’t got a consigliere at all. Or to put it another way, an anti-corruption commission is no more effective than the Mccarthy Un American Activities Commission. (My source for that is Kevin Mitnick, about his FBI work).

No. I just can’t be bothered. How about you read an actual newspaper? it’s all there. ‘The Age’ has the exclusive.

Morning all.
No winter yet.
Tested the Android phone compass download. It seems quite accurate when compare to a conventional magnetic compass.

I suggest you have a look at the About Us section of the IBAC webpage. It is independent of the government of the time.

Bastards in the media do play a big role in most political revolutions – in the Eureka stockade for instance – in the Bolshevik revolution for instance.

Nope. Still doesn’t make sense. Preselection is a total crock anyway, and has been for at least 200 years.

Summarise please. Or answer the legal question “cui bono?”
