I’ve had an awful stressful morning just trying to explain to an older gent support worker why giant son will not go with him to this new 3 days a week programme on Mon, Wed and Thursdays.

The reason is because the fellow is near 60 and a really slow talking slow walking very serious stuffed shirt type.
GS doesn’t like him, he’s no fun at all.
I don’t blame the kid one bit. This worker prefers to sit and talk to me and show me what my iphone can do!

But trying talk to this fellow and tactfully explain that he’s not suitable..I used an example of when the boy was at home mid week when he wasn’t supposed to be and he needed to be taken back to the unit… the resi unit staff would send their best young hippest guitar playing motorbike riding dredlocked wise cracking joker worker they could muster. And if they were Jamacian all the better. GS loves Jamacians!

This worker is due here any moment and GS is sound asleep. I might just dissapear into the vege patch and leave the door open where the worker can walk right in and see GS asleep.

I’ll talk to GS’s case manager later. Sigh.

Bumping up Feb chat before it’s lost forever in the annals of time..

It’s Phone Day! I’ve been stuck on the phone all morn, solicitor, case manager, psychologist ect ect you name it, and several to go yet, and some to get back to and waiting for some calls back. It doesn’t stop me getting out in the garden or cooking though..landline handset in one pocket and mob in the other. I’ve been picking gerberas and daisys for a vase, relocated a fuschia and did some weeding. I hate it when I’m headfirst into weeds and my pocket starts vibrating!!

I spotted an injured feral bird, well Max spotted it first and he lead the charge for it, but I managed to half squash him in between my knee and a gate and I got to it first. I popped it in the neighbours olive tree.

I picked some humongous cucs and a friend helping me dropped one on her foot ,she hopped about saying “they’re not cucumbers they are WMD”! lol

The tomatoes are starting to topple over.. propped up with some old overstretched occy straps. It works!

I made a smoked haddock mousse for tonights tea, I need a crunchy salad to go with it, and a passionfruit slice for dessert.

I was sitting in my easy chair reading my book in the wee hours (couldn’t sleep) when I had a little visitor. A little mouse made his way up onto the chair next to me where I put my laptop and was crawling around and under the stuff there. Didn’t seem to fussed about me sitting just next to him. Was very interested in the chocolate block wrapper scrunched up there. When I eventually went to bed I could here rustling and in the morning there were lots of bits of chewed off wrapper lying around! I wonder where he came from as the only mice I used to see in the house were the ones the cat brought in when he was younger? Will have to do a search around my room to see if there are any little hidey holes. Don’t mind one little visitor, but don’t want him bringing friends or raising a family in my bedroom!!

Annoying thing is, Most other states have it easier then us Sa for example 16 year old just got to do 50hours and have for 9 months or half a year and then your on reds doing 100kms and then greens when your 17 and a half doing the full Limit. I had to do 120hrs for L’s, 1 year on red p’s at 90kms and then 2 years on green and cant get over 100kms well cant get Caught doing over it. and have to have 0.00 blood level at all times, so i cant have a drink and then wait and drive home from the pub.

my rw tank is coming next tuesday – so i must finalise the plumber, pump and piping.
a few other jobs to do as well. the cleaners came this morning so the place is clean.

you’ll be a better driver for it Veg. I still think they make it too easy the way some people behave on the road.

Well, what happened to Tuesday? Everyone to busy to pute.

I’m still weed chasing. I have chosen my weed for the summer and eradication is well under way. I can’t tell you it’s name because it’s just another weed to me but I’m on to it. Typical of me I can’t walk out into the yard without keping my eyes on the grass in case I see one. The rain has them germinating in their thousands in a few short hours. I am obsessed I know. Happens every year.

Also cleaned out the iris garden. Got rid of all the dead leaves so at least it looks a lot better now. Still picking a few strawberries each day. 4 snake bean plants is perfect for us because we get a feed about every 4 days. Not too many that you make yoursekf sick of them.

Watermelons are looking good. Only wish I knew exactly how to tell when they are perfectly ripe for picking. I know the theories……..stalk browning off, underside cream colour, sounding hollow etc but they are all a bit iffy.

Pom, i can help with this being the proud daddy of 30 perfect watermelons, except for the 6 the bluddy crows ate a hole in so i cut ‘em up and gave ‘em to neighbours.
All the indicators you mention are legit, but the little stalk browning off is the curly pigs tail immediately opposite the melon’s stalk, where it joins the main runner. That little pig tail is the indicator. (Stage one), It will start to brown off a bit, but is still slightly green, but that aint ready yet. (Stage two,) it will become fully brown, but is still a bit pliable. Still not perfect but OK. (Stage three) It will get so it breaks when you snap a piece off it, that’s when the melon is perfectly ripe.
However, if you are gonna have a whole swag of them coming on at once, then start picking at the stage two point, because stage 3 is only a week away and you can only eat so much watermelon.

Anyway, watch out for crows.

I’ve started re planting the fernery , it’s a lot cooler in there now with the ends closed off and darker shadecloth.

Rain seems very distant and it’s tough to keep the water up to things, and ferns like damp, so I’ve taken the screw cap off the bath outlet which is in the fernery and popped on a diverter. That water can just run along the path out there and into the fern bed. The path is slightly sloped so it works perfectly. I washed pillows in the bath and let that water out and rushed out to see where it went, it banked up along the garden edging but soaked in as it ran along :)

Now all I have to do is talk more people into showering lol.

butternuts should be picked when the stem has died off and left in the sun for 3-4 days for the skin to harden. they then store well.
there’s no harm in picking some early pumpkins to extend the season.

No worries Pepe, I’ve not grown these before. theres several big and yellow so I will start picking soon. I’d assumed they wern’t good keeping because the one’s I buy don’t last long at all. We lerve roast pumpkin and mashed with spud and pumpkin risotto.

Yes, yummy pumpkin soup too. I make one with puff pastry baked onto the individual bowls, it’s yum breaking through the pastry to get to the soup.

I got absolutely rotten blind smashed last night, unintentionally , in a spa, by (kindly??) friends who kept topping up my glass of port, and I had to be helped out and driven home.
(hubby videoed me! and no, you may not ask to see that, lol)

But my friends who were very drunk too have only just emerged out of bed with sore heads and cannot understand how I got up early and been on the go since 6 am. I don’t have an answer or explanation , I just do it.

Darwin CBD office bombed, man in custody

A man is in custody after seven people were injured in what police say was a bomb attack on an office building in Darwin’s CBD this morning.

Police say a man wheeled a shopping trolley containing an explosive device through the front door of the TIO (Territory Insurance Office) premises in Cavenagh Street at about 11am.

NT Police Commander Rob Kendrick says there was a “significant” explosion but he does not believe any of the injuries are life-threatening.

The injured people have been taken to the Royal Darwin Hopsital. They include a policeman suffering from smoke inhalation.

Police say a man surrendered to them after the explosion and he is being treated as a person of interest.

The TIO office is inside Darwin’s CBD Woolworths complex.

The entire shopping complex which sits between Smith and Cavenagh Streets is being evacuated as are neighbouring properties.

Five ambulance vehicles are on the scene and Darwin hospital’s burns trauma unit is on standby.

Louisa Ainsworth was shopping when she heard the explosion.

“I was shopping at Woolworths and then just started hearing all this crashing and banging, sort of like a roof was collapsing and sort of like a little explosion,” she said.

“We just went outside and saw all the smoke and people screaming and running out of TIO.”

Slowly getting better Collie. I’m just taking each day as they come. Getting better each day. The 3 day break from the computer helped heaps. I was able to concentrate on myself.

Pom, i can help with this being the proud daddy of 30 perfect watermelons, except for the 6 the bluddy crows ate a hole in so i cut ‘em up and gave ‘em to neighbours.
All the indicators you mention are legit, but the little stalk browning off is the curly pigs tail immediately opposite the melon’s stalk, where it joins the main runner. That little pig tail is the indicator. (Stage one), It will start to brown off a bit, but is still slightly green, but that aint ready yet. (Stage two,) it will become fully brown, but is still a bit pliable. Still not perfect but OK. (Stage three) It will get so it breaks when you snap a piece off it, that’s when the melon is perfectly ripe.
However, if you are gonna have a whole swag of them coming on at once, then start picking at the stage two point, because stage 3 is only a week away and you can only eat so much watermelon.

Anyway, watch out for crows.

Well I’m glad you are giving gardening advice even if you’ve decided not to be caught up in chatter on here. I went down and checked the melons and found the tendrils starting to brown off like ou said. Glad you told me about that. I was really up the creek because I’ve had over ripe ones and under ripe ones. This way sounds foolproof.

Crows haven’t found the melons….yet.

Morning, today I did wake with a sore head..GS losing it at 2 am , went off the deep end he did, but settled after a few tense hours.
No napping, theres a psychologist doing a home visit at 10am.

Ants are building those rotton mounds of dirt throughout the whole lawn area. BUT…….but, I’m not whinging about the rain. I will never moan about rain again in my life.

Had 58mm rain for 24hours to 10:00am. Tank is now overflowing!!!! YAY! Long time since that has happened. Just think; in October we were getting ready to buy water!

I had a run in with youngest son’s depressed mate last night. He’d tried to kill himself and I think I came down too hard on him. I told him off because he said he didn’t care what it did to his mum, in front of her too.

He spat the dummy big time and stormed out of the house. MrBL and youngest son searched for him on the bike while I drove the streets and his Mum waited at home. He eventually came home but he’s very angry at me and at his Mum for not taking his side.

All this because his girlfriend of 6 weeks dropped him, and he “can’t live without her”. They’re both only 17.

His poor mother just never knows what she’s going to face from one day to the next and the public mental health system sucks.

Evening all. just got home from a meeting. Still sticky and yuk. 22.5C and 99% humidity

After talking to guys at work about the medical (actually a drug/alcohol and work capacity evaluation) this morning I was concerned about whether I’d pass! They were talking about situps/pushups and balance tests. I did the test this afternoon.

I did end up passing, thankfully. Trick was the paperwork I filled in had a question about the fitness requirement for the job (sedentary/low/medium/high). I said low. Test results indicated medium-high capacity so I’m in.

So this job is in the bag. Woohoo.

So my crew cut cost $1.22.

They only really hang out here at home and this has been going on to some degree for a few years now. My son is very aware of what’s going on and handles it well, better than I do actually.

As long as he knows that you want to try.. He could come around. It is only possible if he wants to. Sometimes just knowing that a friend is available is very useful.

Gotta get up, my public are growing restless.

Letting mum chook go with her egg son Marco to the Anakie farm was a mistake.

Now the other chooks are picking on the two silkie girls. Big time. I had thought they would be ok because they’d gone their separate ways within the confines of the run.

I can’t get mum chook back, not without a lot of drama, so I’ve been taking the 2 silkies out of the main chook run and leaving them in the yard for the day. They’re fine and hang out under the dwarf wattles scratching about and dust bathing.

They’re fine with Max too, in fact I missed a great Kodak moment with chicks and dog sharing a bowl of porridge!

But Max is ok with them only as long as I’m there and if someone else let Max out when I wasn’t home, I can’t trust him to not have a go at them.

I can’t leave them out overnight for cats, so I’ve been taking them back to the chook house to sleep in a separate box at nightfall and so far thats working.

But I can’t keep doing this , and on days when I have to go out I’m afraid for them in the yard.
What to do…

no idea about the chook pecking order HP, but one of the chook ladies here might read this later….

I go to a unisex hairdresser, he’s a one man band and cuts mens’ hair and ladies for $16. No appointments, just sit and wait. He cuts really well too!

I wouldn’t know. When he took off i wanted his mum to ring the police but she wouldn’t. I’ve found the number of a group, through a social worker friend, who may help. Problem is he doesn’t want help. He’s had numerous people involved but always stops going.

I’m giving up on hairdressers. Good ones are like hens teeth – hard to find. When you find one she gets married or pregnant or goes to another shop somewhere or buys her own salon. Poof! She’s gone. I’m letting my hair grow.

I’m giving up on hairdressers. Good ones are like hens teeth – hard to find. When you find one she gets married or pregnant or goes to another shop somewhere or buys her own salon. Poof! She’s gone. I’m letting my hair grow.

g’morning.
I’m already stuffed and the day’s barely begun. I’ve pruned swept and used me freebie garden tub to it’s full use :) I don’t know what I ever did without it!

I thought I might stand in the chooks run and see if theres any let up in the feather war going on with the adults attacking the silkie chicks. But as soon as I went in there the chicks came out of their huddle corner to me and right at my feet 2 isa browns and 1 bantam went in full force at them. So the chicks are on the lawn for the day again.
The man has the right , but hard, answer..send all the adult hens off to the Anakie farm and start afresh with 4 or 5 POL’s, they will get along with the chicks.
There’s no other way, and I’m definately keeping the silkies, so the 5 adults ,3 isa browns and 2 bantams, will be crated early tomorrow morn for their journey :(

Brekky and shower now, then we are off to the blokes suit hire co to fit out hubby , youngest daughters boyfriend and giant son in flash bag of fruits. Theres a support worker here to get the boy up and showered. He intend to get the kid to the barbers too.
Wheather or not GS attends his sisters wedding won’t be known until about a day, even an hour before, we leave for the event. If it happens it happens.

All present and accounted for. I previously wrote that I had some self sown spinach coming up and wondered if they might be a summer crop as well. Now I have thousands poking through the ground. All around the vegie garden, on the path where I stripped the seeds off and in the hanging baskets on the verandah. I put the ones in the hanging baskets because I found them on the verandah table and couldn’t just throw them away could I? Stuck them in he flower hang baskets and they are up now as well. It would be good if we had some chooks.

Morning! I’m still trying to decide what I’ll do today. Sun is b….. hot already so I’m thinking to work on the shady side or staying inside. I’ve already been out with the weed brush and dabbed quite a few weeds. Could do some more this evening on the other shady side if the mood takes me. I’ll see.

Morning all. I was off the air yesterday cause my phone went on the blink after a huge bout of thunder early in the morning. Luckily the surge protector did its job and saved the modem! After a bit of fiddling around MrS was able to get things working again, because Telstra said the line was testing ok.

Anyway back on deck now.

Since Tues we have had 120mm of rain, so needless to say won’t be doing any digging in the garden this weekend. More heavy rain forecast so a day watching movies or reading books might be in store…suppose I could even do some housecleaning (yuk!)

Although the temps have been cool, the high humidity the last few days has still made sleeping a tad uncomfortable

We had a savage chook raid in the vegie patch yesterday. Not a good look this morning when I raked all the straw and mulch back in place.

The elf spent some of his free (petticoat Government) time putting up bird netting above the people fence to stop the hens coming over. Looks okay and it’ll stay like that for as long as I can get it not to be replaced.

So the hens now run in the freedom road area and the ducks have the orchard area.

Arvo all, I didn’t forget about the forums, just been busy working and trying to get more then 5hrs sleep.

Back, got wedding clothes for the blokes, and boy do they look handsome in well cut suits :D

Giant son is still out with the support worker..we haven’t rang them to see whats the hold up. No news is good news..we refuse to worry until there’s something to worry about.

And.. we came across an up to 80% off sale on fletcher jones ladies outlet.. hubbys the sucker for sales and dragged me into the shop, I couldn’t dissapoint him now could I ? lol. So I ended up with several new pretty blouses in gorgeous colours in my fave styles too with button tab sleves (can be long sleeved or short, great for whatever season) and one pretty pink with pintucking.

I,m wrecked now well and truely. Steak sangers for tea.

There were some strong wind gusts here yest’ and theres some branches on the roads being cleared. Strong winds were forecast but were wilder than expected.

My one rose ‘fragrant cloud’ snapped off at the base, so I’ll be clearing that away after. it was a bit top heavy and was taller than me. Never mind. I’m just glad the tomato jungle managed to hang on.

They could have freecycled it. But good you got it anyway :)

I’ll be off to the next suburb along to pick up a ladies suede coat offered on freecyc’ a little later. New still with the tag on.
It’s thigh length, full zip, mauve and one size bigger than my shirt size. Perfect with a polo jumper on under.
I’ve been scoring some beautys!

Showery today. Overcast in between. I cut back my Grevellia ‘Shirley Howie’ yesterday. A great shrub. Gets covered in tiny pink spider like flowers for most of the year. It’s hard to know when is the best time to prune. I just do it when it begins to put out new growth.

If the rain holds off, will be unearthing the compost bins. Time to dig the residue into the vegie garden. Then for some winter planting.

Might go to the markets before doing that. I’m in the mood for some new plants.

It’s most crap that get’s offered on my local freecycle, or else stuff that I have no need for…although I did score a beautiful RIR rooster a few years back, and a rabbit hutch for my daughter a few weeks ago

same here only in our case it’s the Daily Telegraph…our shop doesn’t sell the herald any more. One of the owners of the store after we sold it defaulted on paying his bill and since then Fairfax have refused to supply them until the bill is paid, which of course none of the subsequent owners are prepared to do. Since we sold it in 2002, after having run it for 13 years the general store has been relocated 3 times and has had 8 owners….they all seem to want to pay staff so they don’t have to work 7 days a week…unfortunately that doesn’t work with that type of business

This afternoon, we are having a bludge. Elf is watching a DVD of the pilot of “Stargate Universe” he picked up at Target this morning.

Not even sure if it’s still around the nurseries anymore. I’ve had mine, or seedlings from the original, for 30years. Gosh that took me by surprise……………..30 years but it’s at least that long.

Morning all. It loooks like a gardening and jam-making day for me. I have to prune the lime tree as it’s turning into a monster and STILL no fruit. Lots more trimming and tidying to do and I should have started hours ago. I have plums and nectarines queuing up for some sort of processing so I MUST do that today!

What a day we have had so far and its not even midday

DH has a dentist appointment at 3 pm after spending the weekend with a broken tooth. We went to the dentist place for them to see the tooth.

Got a letter from Centrelink in the mail to say my carers allowance ($106.00) a fortnight has been canceled. So by the time I finally got on the phone to them and had a chat to a lovely man. Filled out the form and then went to our nearest Centrelink to make sure its processed before this Friday as that is when my payments are sent to the bank.

DH was triggered by something in the building and was starting to have an asthma attack. The woman who allocates what area you need to go to wasn’t very understanding and told me to either sit and wait or go away and come back later.

So I went to another woman who took us out the back, took the form, found their first aide lady who sat with us until DH medication took affect and gave him a glass of water.

We were then allowed to leave by the back door. Something out in the sitting area, be it a human who had perfume, deodorant or just had a smoke….or something else set him off.

Now I wait until the next letter arrives to say we have qualified or still no. For people who don’t care for someone, we get assessed every 2 years. I have been careing for DH 4 years as a paid carer.

Don’t think so Cheryl, I haven’t fed it for ages and I don’t give it nitrogen. Just horse poo, sulphate of potash, Epsom Salts and B&B. Not all at once and not very often!. It’s a Tahitian lime, and last year I put a Kaffir lime in a pot next to it. The Kaffir has blooms and fruit on it, I’m hoping it will show the other one what it’s supposed to be doing! LOL

I hope Centrelink sort it out quickly for you. Given that the Elf had an attack there and then should have shown how important it was.

Hey Lucky. Going so so. Too hot atm to do much in the garden but I do try and keep the veges watered.

Arvo. I been very busy of late , and in court today with giant son. Only I didn’t enter the courtroom , his aid accompanied him. If he agrees to attend a special programme he can have fines worth several grand wiped. The fines were an accumulation of lots of smaller misdemeanor’s and doubled over time with added admin charges. He would get the letter about the fine and throw it in the bin. He agreed but didn’t understand , so all he knows is he has to attend a special class.

And, I had to pick this afternoon in 34c heat to dig up the last of the back spud bed. I was not going to drive down the street for spuds when I have them growing, and need some for tonights salad.
I unearthed a mouse nest in the spud bed, buried deep in a thatch of horse manure and straw mulch. guess whos chooks got a handful of baby mice to play with..
I’d wondered why the mouse traps wern’t working..why have a bit of stupid cheese when theres fresh veges laid on right next to you. Silly hoomans.

Our thermometer out under the verandah fell from 30 to 28 with the drop of rain we had…. only 22mms and the thermometer is now back up to 31C… but here comes the rain again! Its thumping down !

Back from the dentist. The “dentist” smell was over powering when we walled through “the doors” …….. felt panicky and I wasn’t even going to be in the chair. Feel all teary now….stupid I know.

Just so glad this day is nearly over with. Elf had a crown on his second tooth from those two main front ones. Looks good though.

Actually I’ve had an incredible day..there was a meeting of case manager psychologist support worker ect and we spent half the day discussing and asking giant son what are some of the things he would like to do..and he just shrugs dunno. He’d make a perfect actor , if he could just get get around the social stuff! Not happening. The case manager suggested this and that, computors (no way, if they don’t ‘work’ they are in pieces in seconds) and whatever else we could think up.
Then I gave them some of the kids school reports, mind he only went to grade 4 and that was only very occasionally , but the boy is obviously gifted in math. We always knew there’s not many puzzles he can’t solve. But how to nurture this side of him without new people and places involved is unknown. And not at home because he’s wrecking the place.

So ,GS then says ‘ well I have been playing the stock market , using my special formula and on paper only, and so far I have made 2.5 million dollars in one year.
There was complete silence! LOL!
So we asked how..and OMG the kid comes out with algorithims , percentages, formulas and averages based on amount of people, supply and demand and technical dollar math that was wayyyyy over our heads.
And this is a kid who cannot even manage his own pension , save or pay a bill. Once the case worker managed to find his voice again, he said he will search high and low until he finds someone who may be able to help work with gs on some math problems and see what he can do.
I’m stunned.

We’re still stunned, told hubby whos just home from work and he said he knew he was playing with stockmarket figures, but assumed the boy was working out amounts to learn how to buy sell and trade in his runescape gaming.

We had no idea whatsoever what he was actually doing.

Well one thing, we are a step closer to answering a long term worry, that is what is the boy going to do in his life.
It will have something to do with math and figures for sure.

I go by the “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all” approach to life, so I’ve been staying quiet while a grumpy patch passes. He’s about to have his pension managed by a trustee because of this. And he can’t invest through another person , as he said he cannot explain very well how it works nor write it down, it’s all in his head. His personal signature is 2 inch high baby scrawl. But he spells phonetically ok using a keyboard.

So just how much cash did he start with, on paper that is?

sorry should have explained it better , this is mostly theory, although gs did write some things down.. scrawled on bits of paper it looks like Einsteins blackboard with mathematical equations going in all directions.
But from what I can tell he started with $400 ‘monopoly money’ and invested in several things but mainly the money market.
On another bit of paper there’s written ‘ nothng ovr 2.5 pc’ an don 2.5 pc (nothing over 2.5% and down 2.5%) and other ramblings about what goes up must come down, other nonsensical writings, eg ppl pank ( people panic). Obviously makes sence to him though!

Scratching our heads over it all.
But rapt that something is emerging that could possibly provide a future for the kid, helping to solve problems.

A mate (an ex-DJ) got “volunteered” to do the sound for a friends of his gf’s wedding. He had to drag out mixing desks, amps, speakers and interface that he hadn’t used in 15 years, with a laptop he wants to use, and a big screen tv he wants to use so he can see what he’s doing. He’s a tech tragic, so lucky I was an electronics tech (communications and oil drilling stuff mainly) previously so I worked out his equipment faults and got it all going. Made for a long day yesdy though.

If your eyes are ok you can get a netbook with a 10” screen for under $400.

Does wireless to your router (if it has wireless of course) and can do browsing/email etc.

Yep it’s all good, wireless , me eyes ,ect. Just missing the moolah for the lappy. But my birfdys too far away, and xmas just gone, lol. I have a cool little ipaq hand held pc with a 4 in screen. I use it to send me to sleep playing games. but it’s too small to catch up with yous LOL.

I’ve got a laptop. It’s a 15” I think IBM, running linux now but I could try to get windows on it if I can find a disk.

The screen needs something to lean on as it flops down, but it works well. Bit slow but fine for browsing etc.

And, I do have a great lappy but it has broken screen pixels that I’ve been going to fix forever and we were was told the cost would be more than a newie. Although it was top of the range at the time, hubby still uses it with an old box screen attached.

Actually I’ve had an incredible day..there was a meeting of case manager psychologist support worker ect and we spent half the day discussing and asking giant son what are some of the things he would like to do..and he just shrugs dunno. He’d make a perfect actor , if he could just get get around the social stuff! Not happening. The case manager suggested this and that, computors (no way, if they don’t ‘work’ they are in pieces in seconds) and whatever else we could think up.
Then I gave them some of the kids school reports, mind he only went to grade 4 and that was only very occasionally , but the boy is obviously gifted in math. We always knew there’s not many puzzles he can’t solve. But how to nurture this side of him without new people and places involved is unknown. And not at home because he’s wrecking the place.

Got a letter from Centrelink in the mail to say my carers allowance ($106.00) a fortnight has been canceled. So by the time I finally got on the phone to them and had a chat to a lovely man. Filled out the form and then went to our nearest Centrelink to make sure its processed before this Friday as that is when my payments are sent to the bank.

DH was triggered by something in the building and was starting to have an asthma attack. The woman who allocates what area you need to go to wasn’t very understanding and told me to either sit and wait or go away and come back later.

Why do CL do that? Couldn’t they just advise you that your carer renewal form is due and have you go in to sign the necessary forms and hopefully save extra stress. They probably couldn’t manage that because it would make life too easy. You could even say that it brought on the elf’s asthma attack. Who knows?

If he agrees to attend a special programme he can have fines worth several grand wiped. The fines were an accumulation of lots of smaller misdemeanor’s and doubled over time with added admin charges. He would get the letter about the fine and throw it in the bin. He agreed but didn’t understand , so all he knows is he has to attend a special class.

Unbelieveable! I don’t even understand why he was in court at all.

I had to tick boxes on a form. ….. When I rang up about it the fella said I should tick this box and not that box…so on and so forth,

Almost Mrs. Bimbo called in this morning. She was involved in a rear ender crash this morning. Someone went up the back of her car. She wasn’t moving due to an accident up in front and the person didn’t notice the traffic had stopped.

She is okay, back bumper bar is stuffed. She said there was 4 separate accidents on the Salisbury / Mawson Lakes area of the highway.

All in the matter of a few minutes and there was an accident there an hour earlier, so the tow driver said that was collecting a car.

Its a bitch of an area and both kids travel every morning on it. This area of the highway scares me:( when I know the kids are going to work.

Gawd. Just sorting through GS’s clothing, or rather, whats left of them.

He’s taken his ‘anti button’ issues to new heights. Anything with buttons on it gets ripped. $400 worth of clothes since xmas and theres barely anything left intact. I’d bought some new clothes for the boy and tops with collars, and they have 3 little buttons at the top part, and I did remember about the button thing but that was only on trousers before. But now it’s shirts and tops too.
Pants have to be elasticised with a drawstring, and now any tops must be tee shirts with no collar or buttons.
I might have to take up dressmaking!!

It’s going.. quietly :) I finally pulled out the tomato plants (pretty good harvest for very little effort though), so the only things left are basil and celery, and I’m not sure the celery is going to make it to normal celery size – we’ll just see what happens. Leeks died off when the tomato plants shaded them out completely, beans never stood a chance against the slaters, but everything else did OK. Taking a bit of a break from it at the moment.
