There was similar news to this a year or two ago.

Come to think of it, according to the best mathematical models to date, stars are supposed to do this. They aren’t supposed to go supernova, they don’t have enough energy to go supernova.

¿Am I right in saying that they exclude quasi-stellar objects, which appear and vanish at random all the time.
