I’ve been reading the Australian Skeptics magazine. This link came up. Might be worth a look. Free download, link where it says “Free to Read”.

The mystery is how the magazine exists at all.

No true skeptic purchaser would subscribe to the magazine without first viewing a good few copies to see if it was worth the money, but no true skeptic publisher would let a member of the public view their work without payment in advance.

I shall ponder that paradox, o master.

related to that, their terms report a minimum service type fee of some US cents but then if the price is 0 then … what ¿ do they charge the author the service fee every time a “free” transaction is made

The latest 4 issues are locked, although you can read the contents and one of the articles. Earlier issues are open access at the link I just gave.

No true skeptic would avoid the opportunity to point out your No True Scotsman fallacy.

Your local library should have a subscription to e-magazines so you can read online for free.

Interesting word “skeptic”. Sceptical about what?

About religion, statements from politicians, climate change or Covid-19?

Current magazine has articles on chiropractic, Atlantis, Carlos hoax, anti-vaxxers, Premium Wine Card, a rather interesting piece on history of mystics and fortune tellers, a book review of “Placebos for Pets?” by Brennan McKenzie. I’ve been reading the magazine for probably 20 years, so it’s a tad repetitive for me, but unfortunately there are always new people believing things without thinking things through.

You’ve not heard of them?

I believe they use the term in the scientific sense, i.e. looking for valid evidence (in any context), rather than accepting fake evidence without question.

Not that I’ve ever actually read anything by them (as far as I remember).
