Have I mentioned before that the Jacka kids attended the same hippy school that jj’s kids and I went to? Joe used to entertain us with stories about Antarctica, and even brought in his full snow suit (in which he was a dead ringer for the Michellin Man). I have since lost contact with them but I believe the oldest kid, Kieren, followed in his footsteps. Inspiring passion.

Aurora Australis and L’Astrolabe along side at IMAS. I shot these two legends of the frozen south enjoying a day in the sun in Hobart back in 2014. On our last trip, October last year, Aurora Australis looked like she hadn’t been touched since then, and was frankly in pretty shabby condition.

I have actually had a decent response so far. 67. which is not bad for an online survey when I couldn’t face to face people and ask them for ten minutes of their time… I would like at leat 100 so I can do a solid regression analysis. but I’ll take the 67.. \

online social networks attached to the uni and snowball sampling. it’s not perfect, but it was the best I could do given the circumstances.

I remember piss weak Antarctic world in Hobart. Most agreed it was not worth the money. Mawson’s hut recreation in Hobart? Also pretty piss weak.
