Astronomers Have a Plan to Detect a Possible Black Hole in Our olar System

You may have heard about Planet Nine — a hypothetical planet thought to exist in the outer reaches of the solar system. One possibility is that it’s not a planet at all but a tiny black hole. New research outlines a potential strategy for detecting this supposed black hole, in a search that could begin as early as next year.

Some people are still buying Brown’s BS, I see.
Mike Brown is the modern day Percival Lowell. ie., made some exceptional discoveries before going completely insane.

Before the WISE satellite, discoveries of transneptunian objects (TNO) and scattered disk objects had slowed down to a crawl. They picked up with the Wise satellite. Let’s just see how discoveries in our outer solar system have fared lately.

TNOs

Year, number_of_discoveries.
2020, 0
2019, 2
2018, 6
2017, 7
2016, 57
2015, 540

Farewell, outer solar system. Not only are we not going to discover a black hole in our outer solar system, we’re not going to discover anything else, either. The rate of new discoveries has dropped to zero.

Seems a pessimistic view

We have had a rather interrupted year so far and it may have resulted in far less search time

Too pessimistic, yes. I wonder what future space telescope has the ability to see such objects?

I initially had hope for WFIRST, but … could it?
Its field of view is a 0.28 square degree. So it could, if it was used that way.
