Im wondering how many ways people get viruses ?

I thought virus could get into the body from an infection of some kind ?

How are people breathing in air with the virus and then getting the virus from just breathing?

because the viral particles are produced by other people sneezing and coughing and remain suspended in the air for quite some time

Well the nose for one is an organ designed to take in particles from where they enter the blood-stream.

Right, well that clears that up

How Your Lungs Work
https://www.lung.ca/lung-health/lung-info/how-your-lungs-work

Your smallest airways end in the alveoli, small, thin air sacs that are arranged in clusters like bunches of balloons. When you breathe in by enlarging the chest cage, the “balloons” expand as air rushes in to fill the vacuum. When you breathe out, the “balloons” relax and air moves out of the lungs.

Tiny blood vessels surround each of the 300 million alveoli in the lungs. Oxygen moves across the walls of the air sacs, is picked up by the blood and carried to the rest of the body. Carbon dioxide or waste gas passes into the air sacs from the blood and is breathed out.

I was talking about the nose as a sense organs for smell. You need not breathe all in to your lungs to still take in particles

If even a single surface is compromised, a virus can infect the majority of a workplace in a matter of hours.

The smaller the virus, up to a point, the longer it stays in the air, and so the higher the transmission rate.
