Here’s how it started… I show up, you know buy a house and jump for joy when the lawyers finally get it right and say “the Mortgage is yours” and I drive in hired rental truck to said property and find the Macamadamia has gone base over apex….

well I’m thinking a bit of a prune, a pull on a ropey dope and the Tree should be upandicular in no time…. but bugger me, it ain’t easy to prune a tree when its all lazy and lying down.

Now the Green Ants like making nests like shown in trees up here and they like to crawl onto the axe, saw, polesaw, chainsaw that you are using and then bite your hand while you are trying to cut their homes down.
And let the record stand that PNG Green Ants are more aggressive than QBilly ants.

So here is said poorly pruned Mangolia Macadamia in its upandicular position. Complete with support ropes…

That looks like it was definitely a challenge. Good onya for trying. Hope it survives to make up for all the work

Nothing wrong with it. I can see it forming new nuts already.

Never been there… dunno. But the Qbilly Green Ants would get on your hand and have a bite and you’d squash ‘em, whereas the PNG ants would swarm en masse onto the axe head, each time it hit a tree trunk, they would then as a group race up the handle while you were swinging and they’d avoid biting your hand but wait until they were in under your shirt, meanwhile their mates would then be racing up the inside of your trouser leg, all biting all aggressive.

But its roots stayed in tact, so in theory, it should survive?
Here’s hoping your tree responds to what has been a great rescue. Love the photos.
job well done there PM
