I friend of MrBL has contacts in the wine importing business. Bulk wine comes in huge (about 40000 litre) bladders inside shipping containers. This friend has been getting the empty bladders and setting them up to resell as rain bladders for under houses. A fraction of the cost of the real thing.

…and have that hint of grape flavour to them too :)

good idea. wonder how long they would last compared to the regular water bladders?

I’d be keen on saving a bit of water up here in Mangolia, if the price is right.

Keep us informed bubba.

I can find out more if you’re interested but the cost of getting it up there might use up the savings.

Might still be worthwhile comparing prices?

I had the sizes wrong. There are various ones ranging from about 18000 to 20000 litres and different dimenions. They sell for about $400 and shipping to Bris is about $250 (they are currently in Melbourne) He’s not sure what the direct to Townsville would be. The importer is away until mid march but our bris contact is happy for you to call him for all the info.

I don’t have your email but if you can get it to me, or mine to you, I’ll give you his number.

No worries. I thought he modified them but he sells them as is. I have been assured that it’s very easy to set them up. He’s even willing to give you the importers number but they get cheaper the more you buy and he’s after some more himself so you can combine them. There’s about 100 in Melbourne now.
