I don’t see any impossibility here.

If 66M and 85M black holes can combine to form a 142 M black hole, why can’t two sub-65M black holes combine to form an 85M black hole?

I don’t see any impossibility here.

If 66M and 85M black holes can combine to form a 142 M black hole, why can’t two sub-65M black holes combine to form an 85M black hole?

I didnt see anything impossible either.

Small black holes will combine to form larger ones that a single star cannot form.
