Lots of bed tech around atm.

Smart tvs that have firmware problems.

Android tv box that have software problems ( I ran into this).

Digital tvs that have whole bands missing and teletext that doesn’t work properly, (again I experienced this).

The whole thing would freeze and reboot itself

or it would freeze and require a manual boot.

I don’t know that there’s any more than usual.

Remember when by brand new TV swallowed a DVD and I had to hacksaw the TV open to get the DVD out.

Oh, and my new garage side person door swelled and delaminated in the rain.

The new side gate had to be sent back to the manufacturer twice and took three months from order to arrival of correct version.

And the digital thermometer I ordered on the internet before Covid reached Australia for the first time still hasn’t arrived.

Love, the kind you clean up with a mop and bucket
Like the lost catacombs of Egypt,
Only God knows where we stuck it hieroglyphics
Let me be Pacific, I want to be down in your South Seas
But I got this notion that the motion of your ocean,
Means small craft advisory

My view of technology is that it should be used to make things easier. This modern world shows that it’s not entirely successful with that.

And a few years back, I bought “marine varnish” – after seven coats I gave up. Before realising that it wasn’t in any sense waterproof.
Two years since then I’m still waiting for the last 3% to delaminate itself from the timber so I can put something else on.

I don’t think tech has ever made life easier. Not even way back in the days of the automatic weaving machine or the Newcomen steam engine.

It has made life quicker. And goods cheaper. Given us more variety. And freedom from starvation.
But made life easier? I’m not convinced.

Take spell-checking for instance. It failed to recognise the word “Newcomen” and suggested “Comedienne”.

Stay away from the android 9 version of this one

H96 Max Pro TV BOX Android 9

It keeps crashing and rebooting, its not very stable.

Maybe the H96 Max Pro TV BOX Android 10 is hopefully better but I haven’t tried it yet.

My TV won’t receive some of the new channels so I bought a LaserSTB set top box & now can get SBS viceland etc.
