not new but a good reminder that gardening is important. it irks me that office workers, factory workers are seen as giving a big contribution to society and deserving of high pay whereas gardeners are viewed as low skill hobbyists.
Yes I agree, there is an imbalance …
I miss the old greengrocer shops…they would offer second grade goods at a reduced price…plus there would be green (e.g. tomatoes, bananananananas, etc) produce with the ripe ones and you didn’t need to shop several times a week….at the supermarkets there is no bargaining with the F & V…it’s all one standard and all one price….

the bit that urks me is that I have gone through the same length and quality training as any other Tradey but could I charge the price a Plumber or an Electrician charges? Sadly no.
