Some societies seem to reward destructive behaviours like narcissism and arrogance with the highest access to power, status and wealth. I don’t know why.

I don’t know if it’s exclusive to either left or right (by which I mean I genuinely don’t know) but would agree that it thrives in a low-democracy environment.

A good lot are attracted to narcissistic behaviours, and narcissist can be very charming and alluring to start with. Totally over the top with compliments and positive support. Then it goes down hill rapidly once you are in their “power and influence”. And a good lot have trouble disassociating from a narcissist, and suffer terribly as a result.

1. Having a severely retarded child.
2. Lately, because public mistakes come back to haunt me when I’m most depressed.
3. Generally, I don’t.
4. I’ve never felt threatening.
5. I’m a researcher, I only believe first-hand accounts and raw data.
6. I need to embrace paradigm shifts more often, to tone down the inner cynic.

narcissist traits are just that, traits, it’s a word, a denotation, that might be used to characterize a personality type, not only is it used for clinical type applications, but also has a more common use outside that

narcissist traits probably overlap a bunch of other type things also, which also have names, people are a diverse bunch, the wetware isn’t just from straight unfolded DNA, expressed so, the structures, neural branching isn’t so tight, depends a bunch of factors, gestation through to late teens and beyond, but it’s safe to generalize it’s substantially diverse

i’d be more looking at equilibrium mental states, the backdrop of housekeeping tasks, the internal monologue, and of desires, instrumental desires, depth of orders of intensionality applied to abstracting those in a framework of beliefs, and from that what is impoverished, or washed out, whether it varies or is consistent also

there are structural variations across any population, which has served groups well through history i’d imagine, nature throws broad, of humans, big brain and all that
