We talked about a WA wildflower tour last year and I really want to go. My choice would be the Indian Pacific one way and fly the other but the train is very expensive.

Are there any interested parties?

My nice neighbour is a travel agent, so I’m planning on seeing if she can come up with a deal but it’s not really her area of expertise.

Well Bubba…I already live in WA…but if you’re serious and the timing’s right for me, I’d be keen.

It is something I would really love to do too. But unless I get some work I very much doubt I could afford it, and maybe not even then. This year is so uncertain with the current situation and I have no idea what my expenses will be once the separation is complete.

I miiiiiiiiiight be interested. I dunno. Seems like I can’t manage a holiday these days without getting a bit ill.

How far north are the wildflowers, anyway?

Just came across this article..

http://www.inmycommunity.com.au/shopping-and-lifestyle/travel-and-holidays/-Best-of-the-Bibbulmun/7555197/

A SPECIAL tour showcasing the ‘Best of the Bibbulmun’ will depart from Perth in September in the midst of WA’s wildflower season.

Led by experienced guides from the Bibbulmun Track Foundation, the eight-day tour will take in some of the very best parts of the track.

The world-famous Bibbulmun Track stretches almost 1000km from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills to Albany on the south coast and passes through some of the most diverse and beautiful coastal, forest and rural areas of our South-West region.

The Bibbulmun Track Foundation is a not-for-profit, community-based organisation established to provide support for the management, maintenance and marketing of the track, and has been conducting guided walks for a number of years.

A Bibbulmun Track Foundation spokesman said this particular tour had been carefully compiled to combine a variety of full-day and half-day walks with off-track accommodation.

Varied landscapes from the rolling hills and jarrah forests in the northern section, through the magnificent karri and tingle forest to the spectacular ocean views and coastal heathlands in the far south, provide a unique and interesting insight into this biodiversity hotspot.

Lead guide Steve Sertis, who has walked the length of the track three times and knows it inside-out, said the pace of this tour was ideal to appreciate the spectacular wildflowers and diverse landscapes of the South-West.

A private bus provides transport to and from the track each day and participants will experience a number of unique eco-tourism attractions in the region.

Each evening, the group returns to comfortable accommodation in the towns along the track.

Participants need carry only a small daypack, and the flexible itinerary caters for all levels of experience.

All proceeds from this trip support the ongoing sustainability of the Bibbulmun Track.

I’d love to do it, but I don’t think I have the stamina yet… half a day I could maybe do, but not a 14k walk..
