Arvo all.
Now these two fella’s popped up in my laundry trough and I wonder what they could be.
Edible or just a fancy looking weed…something to throw to the chooks?

Muschee, the first thing that sprang to mind for the first pic was Turnip! Not so sure now. The second pic looks like Mustard Greens.

Cripes, rocket is a lot scrawnier than that in my garden!! Mind you, last time I planted it I left it too late, and it bolted straight to seed.

and you are done .. hmm

OK without other evidence to go on such as: measurements, tastes, flowers, seeds, roots etc., I venture a guess that the first is a Chinese radish and the second is chard. But hey.. the first could be mustard weed or even canola.

Thanks for your efforts anyways RB.
Both are great looking, healthy plants and what a bonus it would be to be able to eat them.
The one with the rounder leaves looks like it may have a root veg forming and it did smell turnip like.
Anyways I guess I’ll just let em keep growing and see what happens.

Well I agree.. eat your healthy weeds, as long as you know they can be eaten.

I’d say they both are from the cruciferae group.. put it that way. Wild radish though isn’t all that edible. The Chinese radish if that is what you have, may take longer to reach edible maturity but is worth the effort of waiting. I had chinese radish cross with the small round red radish here and then go wild in my garden. So I had pink to purple chinese radishes.
