I see 000 are now accepting addresses from the What3Words App, the old ‘Emergency +’ App has been updated, and Telstra are saying the full Advanced Mobile Location system is up and running, which will dramatically improve the 000 call-taker’s ability to accurately locate the caller. We’ve been waiting for this for a loooong time.

These are very significant changes, and probably the first in a couple of decades, to how they are dealing with the biggest delay factor in emergency response all over the world – Finding the job. The flow-on benefits to service delivery will be enormous.

Not any more. W3W and AML give a much more precise location than just the street address.

Would that W3W position be obtained through the W3W phone app & GPS?

At least you can usually see them from a fair distance away. On land they can be concealed in an area the size of a small cupboard!

Not when you’re heading to the wrong end of the bay because they gave you their cursor coordinates and not their vessel coordinates :)
