Recipes please.
Tried and true. Not googled.
I found a loaded Pecan nut tree on the river and raided it. Got about 10kg’s (2 1/2 buckets full) of the biggest most delicious nuts ever. About 2 1/2” long and nearly an inch thick.
So what else can be done with pecans?

I know you said nothing googled, but I use this site for pecan dish ideas. There’s more at the bottom in ‘archived recipes’. The Maple syrup and Pecan cake is beautiful.

Other than those recipes, I use pecans quite a bit.

Stuffing for Hungarian crepes, ‘palacsinta’. Gound pecans mixed into egg white beaten with a little sugar (uncooked meringue) a dot of lemon juice and place in crepes, roll up , cover and keep warm for 10 mins, and serve, sprinkled with a little sugar. beaut.

I use them chopped in salads , meat stuffing mixes , dips, stuffed prunes or figs , popcorn pecan toffee, pecan biscuits and muffins, cakes. A chilli nut mix is good.

Never watched The Castle (have watched “Castle” as in the detective series)…I take it you approve of the website Longy: so much so, it stirs strong, positive emotions?

yes. you need to have watched the movie to get the reference. If you ever get a chance to watch it, do. It’s a great movie. Nothing to do with the detective series. It’s a home grown Aussie classic.
