There is a serious amount of energy to be harvested courtesy of our moon. Prototype of a hydraulic turbine to be installed on sea floor to capture current energy. The future is renewable!…

They had some problems with the prototype.

Cape Sharp Tidal turbine was ‘damaged beyond repair’ in September

There was a guy on the original SSSF forum who used to push tidal turbines as the answer to all our energy needs.

Must have been many years ago.

In theory, it’s simple and easy to harvest wave and tidal energy. In practice, the ocean is a very harsh environment that probably increases installation and maintenance costs tenfold over terestrial equipment.

Oh, was that me? No.

If memory serves, I’d figured out a way to get tidal power without any dead spot in the cycle, using two basins.

I hadn’t heard about the troubles.

No, definitely wasn’t you.

Very much a one topic kind of guy.
