Thanks Orchid, and ditto, have a great Mothers Day all you mums :)

I’m having a quiet day all by myself, doing housework . Everyone’s away or working , but a promise was made to catch up with the kiddlywinks next weekend, they are going to take me to somewhere nice for lunch. Thats fine.. I need to clean this house, lol.

Morning all…Happy Mother’s day to all the other Mothers on this forum and N E Lerkers’ mothers…one daughter in St Petersburg (and thrilled to be there), one in Melbourne partying hard, the other three kiddly-winks are home, sleeping…so it’s been nice and peaceful so far…

I miss all the little hand-made things (mostly useless but heaps of love in the making) that used to come home from primary school…have kept quite a few…

We have had brunch: I have to hand it to Miss Red for getting her two bro’s to co-operate, not a squeak of protest (that I heard) from either of them…MrD went for broke at Brumby’s (the local private bakery was all sold out) and bought sweet Danishes and fresh savoury croissants. I’m going to put ham cheese and lettuce in the latter for a late lunch…we went out to a local Indian restaurant last night…the chef is Oriental …it’s improved greatly since it first opened but not everything on the menu is available…they really should offer plain yoghurt for those of us who burn easily from chili…so I’m sitting here in a state of shock, all this food coming at me that I haven’t had to cook…might go and cogitate over the state of the nation in my front garden bed…might even tidy up my pot plants…resisting the urge to go to the local nurseries…

We had a lovely lunch at my daughter’s place, I reckon she’s a better cook than her Mum! Son was there too of course. I am now the proud owner of a bread maker :)
I’m spoilt again.

I’ve been sewing and cleaning, but earlier this arvo two of my girls and their partners visited, one gave me a cute wire cupcake holder, and the other gave me the ABC ‘Sweet, The Ultimate Collection’ cookbook, cakes tarts puddings ice creams and more.
But what they did was go through all the pages of the cookbook and put a sticky note on the ones they want me to cook, for them! LOL

I’ve got Ironman 1 here (Bigpond movies) ready to be watched. Looking forward to it. Watched AVATAR on the weekend finally.

Would have been amazing in 3D. Very vivid colours. From a special effects point of view it was excellent, but the storyline didn’t seem to grab me the way, say Star Wars and Star Trek etc, did. I’m not sure I would worry about getting a copy of it for my collection

I don’t want to see it in 3D – I’ve heard too many stories of people having problems (headaches, nausea) with 3D, and given I’m very sensitive already to 2D movies (I find it very uncomfortable to watch bright colours, sudden flashes, and things “coming at me”), I’ve decided to just not risk 3D.

Most of the praise I’ve heard for Avatar is purely based on the 3D, so I doubt I’ll ever get around to watching it.
