Just comparing stuff with old lecky bills.
This year compared to same time last year. Usage down 22.8% Dunno what I’ve done to do that.
Let’s go back to July 2013.
Total bill 3 months 2013 – $731.03
Current bill 3 months 2021 – $356.78
Daily usage 2013 – 19.84 kWh
Daily Usage 2021 – 7.84 kWh
Daily usage back in 2013 was 2 1/2 times what it is today.
Same house, same me.
2013 costs – 31.290 cents/kWh
2021 costs – 25.082 cents/kWh
20% reduction in kWh prices
Am I doing my bit for carbon footprint reduction??

About $200 for the last 2 months. Still got about $150 credit left from the $500 the state govt gave me last year. My usual bills are around the $150-ish every two months, but I went silly with the aircon over summer because it was free,

We used to have a quarterly bill of about $800, so about $3,200 per year.
About ten years ago we put 5 kW of solar panels on the roof and we haven’t had to pay for electricity yet, so that’s a saving of about $32,000. But it gets better, as we are on the high rebate rate and we make about $3,300 per year, so all in all we’ve saved about $65,000. The yearly rates bill from the council totals about $3,300 so the solar rebate pays for that nicely.
We just have to pay for water.

There’s nobody here during the day when the sun shines. It’d be only running the fridge, a cuppla beside digital clocks, and everything that has a “standby” mode such as the tele and what not.

Also not using the big screen projector anywhere near as much since I got the new tele, and also replaced the train room 500 watt halogen lights with LED lights. But don’t think all that would account for 22% less daily usage since same time last year.
Oh………… and a brown undies flashy flashy bang bang a few weeks ago took out 6 of the LED lights. $100 to replace those off Ebay that turned up this week. Sorta bit of false economy going on there.

I had to go and find a bill. Mr buffy looks after those things. We appear to be getting about 10c/kWh “solar export”. The bills are quarterly. The last one was $439.91 after $47.20 was credited for solar export, but with a pay on time discount it was $275.56. That was for 86 days/1007kWh usage.

I’ve got solar hot water, and gas cooking, so that’s not included either. But every drop of water is electrically “pressure” pumped twice. So 1200W pump kicks in every time I turn the tap on. But that usage would not have changed much since TTLY.

….. and cold showers?
Oh…. and my modem, router etc are on only when I’m using it.
No air con, no dishwasher, cold water clothes washing, off peak hot water, mainly microwave cooking.
I’ve got solar hot water, and gas cooking, so that’s not included either. But every drop of water is electrically “pressure” pumped twice. So 1200W pump kicks in every time I turn the tap on. But that usage would not have changed much since TTLY.
I’m on rain water and only use a transfer pump for about 40 minutes per week to put water into a head tank where it can then gravity to the house etc.

Do you live in the dark, Mr Evan?
Only at night time.
If I am in my computer room then in the rest of the house I have one light and the fridge running. My house is very small. I turn everything off except modem and router and fridge when I go to bed.

Is that a low power low volume xfer pump, Mr Tamb?
My main tank is too big/high to collect off the roof, so roof collection goes into a separate, lower tank, then pumped into the main tank. I run that pump for about 30 mins a month to top up the main tank.

Electricity bill varies between $200 and $270 depending on time of year.
No water bill. I have bought one load of water in the last five years @ $120.

perhaps you had a dodgy press-temp valve on electric HWS, or leak on HW line, so HWS was on lot more, or primary and backup thermostat both faulted to closed position so HWS was stuck on for some period, boiling madly
or fridge thermostat was faulty, stuck closed, or some other issue with fridge making it run all the time
it’s your secret kink, putting links across thermostats to keep things working, go on tell us
but seriously PT valves on HWS can get calcium deposits, whatever, get stuck open slightly, bleeding your hot water away requiring constant heating
just rereading the OP, I see you have solar hot water, so if it has electric boost the above would apply
