No. You must install the Ticketmaster app. Your tickets are put in your “ticket wallet” in the app. You then must send the other tickets to the other person’s “ticketmaster app” on the other persons phone, which means they also must have a Ticketmaster account as well.

BTW, it’s the same with Ticketek.

I have a cheap Android tablet, that runs the Ticketmaster app. It is not a phone. It has the “ticket wallet”, but of course, I don’t have any tickets yet.

However, it needs a wi-fi connection to connect to the internet.

However, once your tickets are in “your wallet”, it tells me it don’t need an internet connection to see them.

No. You must install the Ticketmaster app. Your tickets are put in your “ticket wallet” in the app. You then must send the other tickets to the other person’s “ticketmaster app” on the other persons phone, which means they also must have a Ticketmaster account as well.

BTW, it’s the same with Ticketek.

I have to admit I did find it a bit intimidating when I had to do the electronic ticketing thing for the first time. But I managed to figure it out and got into the stadium and found my seats easy enough,

I presume it is scanned at the gate, so scanning/receiving from a phone or scanning off a printed QR code is exactly the same…or is it just once it is sent to your app you are assumed to have attended? That might cause problems if you fail to actually go and then get caught in a COVID net that you weren’t actually part of. I don’t know how these things work.

Oh, and I’m not suggesting you tell Ticketmaster you are unhappy. I’m suggesting to tell your beloved football team that older, faithful, longterm supporters are being left out. They may not care though…

I think it also has something to do with bluetooth. They say bluetooth must be enabled prior to going through the turnstiles. Maybe the QR code, then fetches contact tracing details off each phone via bluethooth.

Aside from the obviously awesome use of Bluetooth, connecting music to a karaoke microphone, it’s also quite useful for AirDropping files to a linked device/computer. I can do something cool on the tablet and AirDrop it to Lord Mutant’s computer instantly.
